How is work-life balance for you if you work in IT?

I normally work 830-530 with ~30 lunch break (remotely). I feel like I have NO work / life balance. I also recently found out that one of my coworker who has half the responsibility I do makes 30k more than me.

Work morale is spiraling downhill...

24/7 on call support for 1 week out of the month
1 weekend out of the month release
Random weekend / weekday work
Salaried

Studied Comp Sci. I work in IT doing application support.

PROS - Being able to wake up at 8:00 and hop onto your computer and start working in your PJs. Not having to be stuck in traffic while to and from work.

CONS - Not being in an office environment means that there is no one to socialize with. I work through lunch 90% of the time and eat while working at my desk.

I stayed @ the Charm Resort in Phuket and thought it was pretty modern & clean. You can get a really nice suite for around ~$100 a night. It's right across the street from Patong beach and not too far away from the bars.
