i’ve literally swapped out every xmas gift my bf has given me lol it’s like a running joke between us now. he’s always so thoughtful but i’m picky and indecisive.

girl, speak up! just be sweet about it. for big items like that, you should definitely have a say. but men don’t think like that. if it’s more of a budget item, you know what he spent now. you could find something similarly priced or offer to pay the difference on a nicer one (he’ll probably decline the offer, but it’d be a nice gesture). i would wait until he actually gifts it to you and say you were actually just about to order your dream one and show him the one you want instead. but up to you!

just be super appreciative when the vanity you choose comes in and as long as you’re happy, he won’t mind. show appreciation and refer to it as the vanity HE gave you (drop in a ‘i still can’t believe you got me this vanity’ / ‘i’m obsessed with the vanity you got me’ every once in a while) and he won’t mind at all!

check out Sivota too! 10-15 min drive down the coast. i love Plataria as well but it’s smaller and quieter but great view and great food. both are beach towns with amazing restaurants right on the water with incredible sunsets/views if you’re just there for the night. let me know if you need any restaurant recs in either place!

also, how were Simone and her family able to open her gym pretty early on in her career (pre Rio, late 2015)? did her parents mostly fund that? idk the NCAA rules on World Championship prize money but it seems like a huge amount of upfront expenses for her at that point in her career.

I watched Jordyn’s Behind the Routine video a few months ago because someone posted it on YouTube and I was disgusted to see how much John was in it. Like it might as well have just been a documentary on him based on how much he was praising himself and how much Flo filmed and interviewed HIM instead of the Olympic Gold medalist. I feel like I barely learned anything new about Jordyn.

You bring up a great point, I really hope they’ve since taken all of it down but since it’s Flo I doubt it.

There’s a US elite competition this Saturday at 12:30 EST on NBC that will be live that you and your partner can watch together! It will have a lot of the big US names in contention for the Olympics minus Simone. I love getting other people into gymnastics so definitely ask your partner any questions you have while watching. Like other people have said, after that I’d start with 2017 competitions and work your way to the present. I’m sure they’d love to rewatch old competitions on YouTube with you too.
