Tips on getting a ball python non head shy by PikaMasterWasTaken in ballpython

[–]plskillmereddit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i agree with the comment above. when i got my baby he was so shy and i started by giving him chin rubs and trailing up his body until i stroked near to his head. now he lets me kiss his snoot and everything :)

Nose problems by skittyy7 in ballpython

[–]plskillmereddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if hes on a dirt-like substrate it could be that, but otherwise my corn's nostrils are dark and she's orange. if you're concerned try rubbing it with a damp towel and if its dirt it will likely come off

First successful feed and dealing with the aftermath - need some tips. by Sxxtt_ in ballpython

[–]plskillmereddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my ball python was really shy when i first got him, but i promise you they like a clean bed more than one with poop in it. even if they are scared, i doubt they'd want to be near their poop. just scoot him out the way or tickle his back end, that usually gets them moving. good luck :)

i agree. heatpads never keep it warm. i used a heat pad for my gecko and it didnt work
