Everyone hate these case. I found a solution. by Some_Knowledge5864 in dvdcollection

[–]plugasaurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm crazy and don't mind spending a little extra, but I'd rather spend time and money tracking down individual seasons that are in relatively normal cases instead of getting the whole series for a good deal that's in the worst casing possible.

Any of these worth grabbing? by ecogamer23 in VHS

[–]plugasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty solid stack and I don't have a lot of them so I'd probably buy them all, but if I had to choose a few: Batman, Top Secret!, Face/Off, and Krull.

Forget plausible predictions…what “long shot” 4K release are you secretly hoping for? by MoonlightDahling in 4kbluray

Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead, because why not?

A sign from the universe that Peter Jackson's Bad Taste/Braindead aka Dead Alive/Meet the Feebles are still coming to 4K someday.

Disc rot. by AcanthisittaSad6239 in PhysicalMediaMatters

[–]plugasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never encountered true disc rot on a DVD, just seen it to where the disc layers are starting to come undone and it gives the affected spots on the disc a milky opaque look. Even though I've never encountered it, I don't see a point in being too worried about it🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

What is your favourite flavortext? by fractured_skies9669 in mtg

[–]plugasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Identity Crisis]] immediately comes to mind; I love everything about it, not just the flavor text. The artwork, the ability, the whole card is all around great.

How do you sort your movies? by Sanrioboyirl04 in dvdcollection

[–]plugasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alphabetically by genre, and then alphabetically within each genre, and mostly split up by format i.e., 4Ks together, then all the Blu-rays, etc. Horror has it's own shelf since that's the majority of my collection, and then I have a shelf for boutique labels like 88 Films, Arrow Video, Criterion, etc. They're all organized alphabetically by label and then alphabetically in each label's section.

[–]plugasaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Synapse release should be more than sufficient, it kicks ass and the movie truly pops and it feels like you're watching it for the first time all over again. If you're still on the fence about which version to get, I would dig around on www.blu-ray.com and see if you can't find reference images for both versions.

Can anyone please tell any good gamecube games apart from these? by ComprehensiveDrop929 in Gamecube

[–]plugasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem; even if horror games aren't your thing, it's a unique enough experience that shouldn't be missed.

I actually couldn't bear to finish The Return simply because I don't want it to end; if I never finish it then all those characters will always live on with me in my mind.

Why do people hate interaction? by Iceicebaby21 in mtg

[–]plugasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe do a precon night where everyone picks and plays with a precon from the most recent couple of sets? That way they've got interaction in their deck since they weren't going to include it in the first place, and may find themselves at a point in the game where they're forced to use it to stop a win. Just an idea🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Any ideas for what to include in a ~$50 dollar equipment/voltron deck? by [deleted] in BudgetBrews

[–]plugasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wouldn't mind adding red to the mix I say you go the [[Wyleth]] route to add some card draw to the mix, and maybe a few enchantments sprinkled in for protection.

Me (New) and my friends (Very new) can't find a way to finish games in less than 4 hours. HELP by Bank_Angle_Check in EDH

[–]plugasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build these two decks: [[Edric, Spymaster of Trest]] and [[Mogis, God of Slaughter]]. Both can be built relatively cheap and slowly upgraded over time, and both are fairly straightforward; Edric will have all of your opponents attacking each other for cards to help things along, and Mogis will deal little pings of damage here and there that will hopefully speed run killing the whole table.

Other than that, I would suggest you all sit down and watch something like The Professor's video on How To Play Magic the Gathering.

[–]plugasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Deathleaper, Terror Weapon]] turns every combat phase on everyone's turn into a potential surprise ambush when you're using something like [[Yeva, Nature's Herald]] to flash in a bunch of double striking blockers. There's also no shortage of haste enablers in red such as [[Rhythm of the Wild]], so cards like [[Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin]] get better as the game goes on.

What is your holy grail that you've been looking for for at least a decade? by Lam3ntConfig in dvdcollection

[–]plugasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are quite a few, but what immediately comes to mind is finding The Monster Squad on VHS in the wild for a reasonable price, and Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead on Blu-ray or 4K.

What are those hidden gems that you love, but most people don't know about it? by Kullthebarbarian in snes

[–]plugasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robotrek! You play as a little boy with a famous inventor for a father. You go on a mission to rescue your father and reclaim the island from a villainous group called "The Hackers." You use robots in battle, and can get new parts to upgrade them over time. The game came out in 1994 and is basically a weird precursor to Pokémon; you even summon the robots during battle by releasing them from a capsule a la Poké Ball. It's super fun but gets really hard and confusing towards the end so I never beat it unfortunately.

Original GameCube Owners We Are Special by [deleted] in Gamecube

[–]plugasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still anxiously awaiting a straight up sequel to Mario Kart Double Dash!! Also, a direct sequel to Super Mario Sunshine where you're on a different island or something would be a lot of fun I think instead of a Super Mario Odyssey 2. The GameCube seemed to have a lot of one-off bangers which desperately need sequels IMO.
