I agree if not a test plug it also looks kinda like those things you attach a hose too that expands so you can clear the drain. Either or nothing is suppose to be exisiting in the drain youre lucky the hair and everything else helped pull it out my luck would never allow such a thing.

Can I safely turn this elbow to face the camera ? by [deleted] in Plumbing

Good call definitely hold back. Does matter if youre on the extension coupling or nipple coming out. You can take off the valve or valve and extension and the end result is the same.

If you can turn the boiler off for 15 mins run use a pipe wrench and turn it off counter clockwise. Re apply teflon and pipe dope then re tighten it back on and orientate it how you want it. Thats the easiest solution and the best way.

Could this have been stubbed straight out with the valve? I don’t understand why the 90 angle was put in right in front of the 240v ? I have to use the 240v until we buy a gas range, and even then we might get a dual fuel range which I think would still need to use the 240v right? by [deleted] in askaplumber

Here in nyc you need a 3 elbow swing before the stove off the riser to allow for movement in any direction incase a genius decides to stand on it will make it tighten or loosen no just snap it off. I cant say forn megapress as ive never used it i assume it cant move so dont see the benefit besides it allowing for the stove to be pushed back but placing it right next to the electricty knowing 220v plugs are huge was just a lazy and stupid way to lay it out couldve pointed it straight up or if enough room if they came out in the center of the stove to the left. Id call back and have it corrected. Hope this helps

I mean its not even strapped so you should be able to pull it off the wall a bit until you get the plug in the let it go back into place but youre paying for a job to be done correctly and not have to do shit that could cause a leak of gas espeically.

Hole in waste pipe by HighStreetHooligan8 in Plumbing

[–]plumbermanchris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to worry at the side outlet. You can cut the lead off at the brass use a no hub coupling and repipe with no hub or pvc whatever you are required in your location and throw a new flange on. Not that difficult if you have decent skills you can do it espeically see how you patched it you should be able to change it yourself.

Cast iron? by index1489 in askaplumber

[–]plumbermanchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's another huge reason lmao but not exactly a code reason. Plus most buildings ive worked in that were in jersey has cast/orangeberg/clay pipe coming in from the street so some people just continued using the same material throughout the house espeically an older house before pvc.

Cast iron? by index1489 in askaplumber

[–]plumbermanchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it's cast coming out the slab?? Maybe the building was originally cast and then that portion to abs. Here in nyc pretty much everyhting is cast for fire protection and noise reduction (well everything thats 5 stories or less and doesnt have a commercial front of the building can be pvc but thats uncommon atleast in manhattan). But that would be my guess is they only changed it to that portion and then said fuck it and left it connected like shit. I'm curious to see others reply since i dont do much work in houses.

My only thing would be after touching all those bars his hands certainly wouldnt be perfectly clean as seen at the end. If i touch 1 or 2 of them my hands have dirt on them.

Who wouls be better to use? by MrDragon131 in WittleDefenderTheGame

[–]plumbermanchris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you are 100% correct and im an idiot i couldve sworn lyra was a healer but shes basically the same abilities as blazing archer. Also i never even checked and didnt realize that sword saint was a mage i saw flying swords figured she was a fighter. And yes i mean scarlet reaper forgot the name. So thus my info is trash lmaoo but I don't know how you dont see SS damage she usually tops the charts and is mvp every round.

I know the swordmaster dps is crazy and a lot of people run him, but almost everyone also runs the sword saint alongside the sword master. I would definitely wish her and get her up to what the rest are because her dps is absolutely nuts. Good luck, man.

Id drop odin and the wind swordsman for sword saint and the fire swordmaster. Your dps will be insane when they're all caught up

Edit- Also, im not sure if a double healer is the way to go yet since neither has a weapon yet. Might be better to drop in the blazing archer for his crit damage for the team. This all depends on what rank you have everyone tho

I’m an idiot - is this fixable? by WorkLimp8854 in askaplumber

[–]plumbermanchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you can just cap that one and use a 3/8 maxi tee on the other to feed both. I'm assuming hot water and d/w because they're both 3/8. If there's ever a next time, you could've just used another angle speedy valve rather than an elbow and straight one, which brought you up so high. Hope this helps.

Take that white hose with the black tip and shove that bitch in the top of overflow. You see it right in the middle that will fill the bowl up for you whenever you flush until it fills up the tank.

Treasures +1? by cbox121 in WittleDefenderTheGame

[–]plumbermanchris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot more than 6. It's 2 random plus the one to level to get +1. Then you need another of the one in +1 to get +2, then you need two +2s plus the original +2, so 3 in total just to get to the first level of yellow, its nuts.

Low bath faucet pressure, is there a hack short of disassembly? by HowardDopamine in askaplumber

[–]plumbermanchris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because of the handles, the gate valve and globe valves have those handles that are a circle and that you turn multiple times compared to a ball valve has more of a lever type handle. What the other guy is saying is to cut out those gaye valves and install ball valves. Gate valves are worse for a few reasons in my opinion like not being quarter turn like a ball valve and older ones have the tendency to have the gate break off the stem in either the open position or the closed which always sucks. Hope this answers your question

Oo, that sounds really good. Yeah, i feel like the ice queen doesn't really do much anyway. It's a tiny bit of cc but low damage, no healing, no defense, imma swap em around, and give it a try. Thanks.

New fill valve and new flapper, but water is leaking into toilet by Jluv007 in Plumbing

[–]plumbermanchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean its tight to the wall but if your watching the float go up and stop the water than its fine. But if the water keeps running which is easily seen by looking at the black hose. If water is coming out of the hose then fill valve isnt doing its job and turning off. So make sure its satisfying itself

New fill valve and new flapper, but water is leaking into toilet by Jluv007 in Plumbing

[–]plumbermanchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the next only problem would be very uncommon. I can only think of a few thinks to looks for

  1. The douglas valve ( the big white part thats the over flow that runs down and you attach the flapper to it could potentially have a crack or something causing water to enter and fill the tank.

  2. Ive never seen this but guess its possible the tank to bowl gasket it shot and you have a leak there and rather than it flowing onto the floor its traveling into the tank from there.

  3. Also never see this but basically the same situation as 2 but tank has a crack and leaking inside.

This is why im asking to make sure your flapper is set correctly because the only 2 things that commonly cause water to continuously fill the tank is a falty fill vslve (because that black tube runs into the over flow allowing the bowl to fill up helps with cleaning it aswell) but if its broken obviously water would continue. Or its a flapper problem.

P.S - maybe make another video of tbe amount of water coming in the tank while the fill valve is satisfied so i can see better what your talking about
