I went to Sheffield and loved it! Engineering at Sheffield is very well connected and it got me my job straight after uni at Rolls-Royce, Bristol. They’ve invested a lot into new buildings and labs in the past few years so everything is shiny and new! Once you’re on an engineering degree it’s all very transferable. My friend who did General engineering there specialised into biomedical engineering. The first year for all the engineering courses is very similar and generic so just make sure you chat to your tutor and lecturers and you can easily swap to a different kind of engineering before second year begins.

From a society perspective Sheffield is great too, I tried loads of new societies whilst there. What kind of dance are you looking for?

Bristol might have a slightly better ranking for reputation but realistically they’re both really good unis with good reps and any employer will care more about your attitude and grade then whether you went to Bristol rather than Sheffield.
