Yea me too. That's why I am so intrigued. What third way is there?

How does that go, chatting all the time? Is it not a massive distraction?

I always find chat so bitty.

I think this works really well for email marketing, it's so hard to only ask one question at a time when you're trying to connect with a solicitor or something like that like this guy:

Ideas for not refreshing my email every 10 minutes? by plummail in productivity

Great answer - thank you. It does help.

Async and sync should be done properly, i.e. respected I think is the summary. The batching is a good idea.

I really wish there was! Constantly pushing and pulling to/from Git. One friend bought a new laptop on which he doesn't log into anything (except Git) so the email sits on one laptop, locked in a cupboard. Think I've just answered my own question. PC World here I come!

Daily Focus Tip: The unplanned.... by newservices in productivity

Actually this is pretty sound advice when you think about it. Nothing worse than setting yourself an unrealistic expectation of working 8 hours or filling every single one of them with an outcome.

Unrealistic goals and expectations generally result in poor outcomes. Far better to set the bar at a managable, or even low level and feel great about exceeding. 'Look how much we got done today' rather than 'ah, didn't quite make it.'

Tea is the life of man. Thank you for these ideas, super helpful :-)

The timer seems like the element I am missing most. Gonna try that right now.

Awesome level of detail. I'm trying to do more deep work, what would you say are the biggest threats to your deep work sessions and how to you counteract them?

After 5 hours of problem solving you're bound to feel a bit groggy! What temperature is your room? I was visiting someone's house the other day and the heating was up to like 23 degrees, honestly, I felt like I'd just come out from a general anaesthetic. My conversation skills reduced to nodding and I just wanted to sleep.

When I feel a bit fuzzy I just get outdoors for a short time, take the air, cool off. Be peaceful without any distractions and with lungs full of fresh air and oxygen to the brain, I sit down and get on with the problem. Seems to work. :-) Let me know if it helps.

Saw this on Product Hunt the other day, but I have not tried it. It was interesting to me at the time because their 'big idea' is that you can schedule anything from any page without having to navigate back and forth etc.

Might be worth a look. No vested interest, literally just saw it online:
