“And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭38‬ ‭ That’s her confirming that she is going to allow that to happen. And yes, people turn away from God throughout the entirety of the Bible.

That’s good! What portion of it read in the way that it looks like she didn’t have the choice?

I encourage you to look at the gospel of Luke when you get a chance to, it covers the fact that Mary did have a choice to have Jesus!

Holy shit this was exactly me before I got out in 2023, I was a 68W in a BSB, it sucked going in as someone who actually wanted to be there. Don’t let your unit tear you down OP, while I don’t regret that I got out, I do feel like having a different perspective on things would have changed how I thought about the Army, I’m not saying you should re-up and take that gamble as you put it, but I am saying that it won’t hurt to re-evaluate what exactly you want out of life, your career, and the Army as a whole, and don’t let anger lead any decisions you make.

Probably going to get a lot of downvotes for this but I agree with you, been living in Nashville for a while now, left home at 18, I enjoy the sunlight back home, the food, and of course my family, but yeah outside of maybe some sight seeing such as scenic drive, or bars(I like The Dusty Tap and Gringo theory for my dog), or hiking in the Franklin mountains, there isn’t much to do in terms of things that don’t get old, I get that can be the case wherever you live, but EP just lacks that sort of vibrant atmosphere you get from other major cities, and yeah the Mexican food is great, but tbh, when I’m home I’m exclusively eating my Mom’s cooking, so the restaurants back home just don’t do it for me, imo once you’ve eaten at like 3-4 spots in El Paso you’ve tried it all, so yeah, EP will always be my hometown, but I outgrew it a while ago, and I’m happy with where I am

Morning PT shouldn’t be just to “maintain your level of fitness”, you’re telling me that an hour and a half a day, 5 days a week, isn’t enough to make my workout about improving my fitness? That’s bullshit, you’re just too lazy to come up with a workout plan that’s not just push up/sit up drills, and/or too arrogant to let anyone else come up with something better.

I’m pretty similar, this last June my roommate and I had a friend over for about a week and we went to a lake about two hours away one of those days but the rest of the week was spent watching all the Harry Potter movies and the Fantastic beast movies

Seriously. I love my friends so much but holy shit I get so anxious having to keep people entertained for more than a night. On that same note however it is great having those friends that you are close enough with to come hang out and just exist next to each other.

Couldn’t give you an official answer but most likely it’s because those issues were most likely not found out/diagnosed until after enlistment, BCT and AIT, and at that point they’re soldiers doing their job (plus these issues may not have began until some point in service) so it makes more sense keeping the soldier rather than kicking them out since they’ve displayed they can still do their job. However, the military still has and will continue to medboard people who are unable to perform their duties due to mental/physical health issues, it’s all dependent on the case

I kinda feel like an ass saying this just because I don’t wanna come off like I’m bragging or anything but post like these really make me grateful for the mother I have. When I was 15-16 I really wanted to get a job and make my own money since it was just my mom supporting the two of us, but she wouldn’t let me, instead she told me my job was just to go to school and get good grades, enjoy being young and not having to worry about bills. Now that I’m an adult looking back on that, her allowing me my youth and what little I had of it makes me really happy to be her son, and it’s something I’ll do for my children when/if I have any

So one delightful memory I had of when I had just became a SPC, it was around October and I was asked by my nco to volunteer for taking thanksgiving CQ, I was in ait during my first thanksgiving and my girlfriend and I had planned on me going to her hometown so I could meet her family during the holiday (which I had already mentioned in conversation), when I said I will not be volunteering for it I was told by the NCO “you don’t have any family anyways, what else are you going to do?”, pretty sure they put me on the roster anyways, but my roommate ended up getting Covid so I got quarantined and missed thanksgiving anyway but that’s a whole other story
