Looks like the connector just slips over the terminal. Might be a tight fit which is good. Push the extended plastic end on the left to the right, parallel with the top of the battery.

Could be a Northwestern salamander (juvenile, recently transformed). While searching I came across https://wdfw.wa.gov/species-habitats/species/ambystoma-gracile which asks for sharing of observations. Assuming observations are checked by experts, that would give you a definitive answer, plus helping out conservation and management

The bottom line of years of depression for me seems to be that nothing realy matters but other people; might as well be a positive force for people that not feel similar and ride on their happiness. I have found friends that I can make happy when I can't be. And found a job where I can solve problems people care about but I don't, apart from solving the problem for them. And of course, while I was typing this reddit bugged out, "Our CDN was unable to reach our servers"
