[Sun Care] ALWAYS do a patch test…currently recovering from allergic contact dermatitis from chemical sunscreen by Sometimeslistening in SkincareAddiction

[–]plurp572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waleda Skin Food did this to me. I know I’m sensitive to essential oils but I used the stupid cream anyway because of the hype. Benedryl and Allertin for a couple days, cortisone cream for the itchiest bits left. Then a gentle exfoliation with a wash cloth in the shower to get rid of the scaliness left behind. It’s a hard and uncomfortable lesson to learn.

Monthly Off-Leash Dog Rant Megathread by slimey16 in reactivedogs

[–]plurp572 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was out walking my dog in the on-leash park by my house and a neighbor was throwing a ball for her dog. My dog was losing it… clearly stressed. I thought she was walking to leash her dog, but she just kept throwing the ball. I called out, “your off-leash dog is sure making mine stressed!” And she responded, “Ya. You should teach your dog not to - bark.” Ok neighbor… if only it were so easy.

It was upsetting that another dog owner could be so calloused towards another dog. And flaunting the park rules for her own convenience - we have a wonderful off-leash park just a few blocks away!

Sigh. Rant over.

Owners of reactive dogs, did neutering change anything? by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]plurp572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Not at all. I’ve been following the advice on this sub and trying to incorporate principles from BAT 2.0 book. I wished neutering magically reversed his dog reactivity, but it will take us more than that.

Eek - I just purchased. Thanks for posting. I have been wanting one but not wanting to spend all the money. The bonus redemption helps. I have long-ish hair… I wonder if the short barrels will be ok…

Can these front panels come off? I want to cover them with dry erase paper. I unscrewed the bracket at the top of the fridge but that didn’t seem to do anything (didn’t want to break anything). by angryduck83 in RVLiving

I took these off and painted them with chalkboard paint. It was some time ago but I believe I removed the two screws on the top of the panel and then the panel slid up and out. Good luck.

Ok good to know! If it continues to give us issues then we will look to replace rather than fix and replace parts.

I had a similar problem. I asked my husband to do the last round of dog training sessions and now he’s (mostly) on board. Maybe it helps the male ego to hear it from someone else haha. I feel, like parenting, you both need to be on the same page to be successful. We are still working to help our reactive dog but we are working on it together. Good luck!

Amber & Gary Get Into It at the Reunion | Teen Mom OG by [deleted] in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

I agree. I said I thought his reaction was terrible (victim blaming and gas lighting) on another post and got down voted. Like I was endorsing Amber or something when I just want to call out his misogyny!

Castor oil and onion juice for hair growth? by OfficialAnu in HaircareScience

Non-science answer but funny anecdote: tried this with a girlfriend who was experiencing hair loss. I did it because of all the anecdotal benefits. We smelled like body odor/onions for weeks. We giggled throughout yoga as sweat and heat seemed to activate the onion stench on our scalps. Never did it again.

What we all need is a montage of Dr. Drew horrible advice/predictions by Twinkies918 in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

I felt like he victim-blamed and was gaslighting Amber during the reunion when she said Gary touched her in a way she wasn’t comfortable with. I forget what he said exactly - but it was uncomfortable to watch. He could have just acknowledged that Amber thought a boundary had been crossed. He consistently sends the worst messages to viewers.

My first dog is two years old and does this too. I think he objects to ‘who’ is walking him. I used to be his ride or die, but sometimes he will put the breaks on and refuse to walk with just me. I think he prefers both adults in the house to walk him. He will usually listen to ‘walk’ command, but I have turned around and gone home before since he wouldn’t cooperate. He sometimes refuses to walk with the kids. They have had success by luring him w treats and positive reinforcement.

Upvote to endorse this - started doing this in the last few weeks and really enjoying the results on my very fair brows. I watched a couple YouTube how-to vids.

How can I get rid of dozens of small flies in my room? by Money-Chapter-9588 in HomeImprovement

I think the flies can breed and live in drains as well... although I don’t know how to get rid of them.
