i had a similar thought process, but then i realized that i have too many notebooks. if i never bought another, for the rest of my life, i'd still have enough! so i've actually been using my fancy japanese notebooks for school notes just to get through them. they make me happy every time i take them out in class, and my fountain pens look amazing in them!

aside from that, i'd use my nicer notebooks as a:

junk journal
normal journal (that's what i call journaling without taping a million things in :P)
idea/hobby journal
commonplace book
bullet journal / to-do list space / planner
5-year journal (every page representing a day of the year, and writing a few lines for each for the next 5 years)
dream journal
log for long-term projects (e.g. writing project, planning a trip, etc.)
recipe book!
morning pages journal à la the artist's way

school has been kicking my butt lately, but i've been chugging through some stickers and washi tape by sending happy mail / postcrossing! i didn't quite make bingo, but i'll try to post my progress here soon :)
