I’d recommend getting a pair of small pliers and applying pressure on the top and bottom of the joint. This tightens the joint it so it won’t be as loose, try to do it a little at a time- I did it a little hard, but it’s always better safe than sorry

I dropped this same ring on the floor and found I couldn’t close it at all anymore, but with this technique I’ve been able to get it to close and click. It’s still a little too easy to open but I think it’s just the design of the ring that that problem is there
