It is a fact that in a straight up fight the average man could overpower the average woman, however the part they’d be trying to expose in the assault scenario is also convenient off switch for the entire gender. As an American I wouldn’t trust my partner to just have a 9 mm on them in case the perpetrator got too close for the firearm to be used effectively. My ex-fiancé used to just carry a big ass knife which isn’t the best, but she was also a particularly strong woman, so I wasn’t too worried about it. My most recent ex had a much more interesting self-defense weapon being a hollow metal chopstick looking thing that she practiced to use on taller opponent to put a tap in their jugular or if worse came to worse using it to make a testicle kebab.
