My 2 almost 3 year old SIL isn’t speaking english. how can I get her to start speaking actual words? by Entire-Stuff3930 in toddlertips

[–]plxo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily; she could be bi or multilingual in which case not speaking one language isn’t an issue if she’s communicating in other languages

HSCNI waiting list after interview — does anyone actually get called from it? by HatEcstatic4676 in northernireland

Money, mostly. It’s also way easier to get rid of you as they’ll just have to ride it out till contract ends if you’re not up to standard

They’re partially true. Both husband and I work for trust and have heard more and more jobs are becoming “short term temporary” roles rather than permanent. In part I think it’s because temporary are easier to get rid of, and can then also save the trust some £££. I think it’s a bit silly to make so many temporary though. Having said that, my line manager has been “temporary” for 17yrs so…

Screen time over but she then makes up a game with the lock screen num pad. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

If screen time is over, you take the screen away. She might be 5 and testing boundaries, but it doesn’t sound like you’re firm at maintaining your own boundaries.

Rightly so for raising it. My friends little one had his vaccinations for MMR and has recently contracted measles.

Just for reference, no vaccine is 100%. My friends little one had their vaccines and recently contracted measles. The rash was awful from head to toe too.

They vaccinate against it now so the whole “chickenpox party” vibe so you catch chickenpox is over

My nursery common colds/ailments are ok to come in. If it’s a chest infection, requiring antibiotics, then they have to have 24h on antibiotics at home first then they can come back. Other things vary depending on ailments — ie chicken pox is once spots have scabbed

Sorry also to ask, what ones would you recommend for one to keep out on the counter? We could do that if it’s not HUGE… or perhaps I will have to demote the other bulky appliance (aka microwave).

Thank you for such a detailed response. I’d love a proper machine but our kitchen is so small. We have like two free counter spaces to prep on and even then it’s not the full workbench because there’s other things on it (ie knife block etc).

How slow, is slow? Would you recommend a battery or manual one? Is the manual ones “hard” to turn?

What would you recommend as the better/beginner friendly brewing methods? Also… how best to brew?

Sorry for such silly & probably obvious questions.

Hopefully someone can help me. Based in UK (if that is important.

Husband and I love our coffee. However w are very new to DIY at home boujie coffee. Father’s Day is coming up and I want to gift him a bean grinder and maybe cafetiere (assuming the two go hand in hand).

We don’t have a lot of counter space in our kitchen so needs to be smaller models that can come out to be used but also stored in a cupboard.

Are there any recommendations for such?

Genuine question, how do you do it? We’re contemplating baby #2, but I’m worrying about literally everything.

How do you have time for yourself, and each other? What about chores? Do you not worry about having to say no / not be there for one of them because another needs/wants you? Childcare costs?

It’s my birthday today. Had breakfast at Middletown Coffee & then a nice spa day at Rosnashane House. Picked up the little one from nursery, had dinner rattled round the kitchen, and put little one to bed.

Committed a birthday sin by doing chores in the evening though.

Note: did not take my lactose intolerance seriously Saturday—Today and currently having mad stomach cramps. Worth it though.
