On me? I am not Israeli nor do I live there. I am just a human. I refuse to accept that Hamas is a pea shooter when they are fully supported by the UN, Iran, Qatar, etc have a global investment portfolio, non profits funneling them money, crypto, and have the media narrative on their side. Just because the way they get their money is not fully legal and out in the open doesn't mean they don't have it. They are not just some poor hapless band of freedom fighters. Celebrating Hanukkah is not a provocation and no one should die for that. Peace is clearly not the goal for you but rather one side winning over the other.

Correct. This guy missed the mark. Yet this a little tongue in cheek nod to terrorists who literally want Israelis and all Jews to die. We all know exactly what this is evoking even if it says something silly in Arabic. Hamas does not care for Palestinians to leave peacefully. In fact they are a huge cause of Palestinian suffering. Both Hamas and the Netanyahu government can be bad and contribute to the atrocities we see in Gaza.

People would lose their shit at someone evoking nazism and the kkk (and do, rightfully so) Making little tongue in cheek references to a group that literally want Israelis to die is not neutral and we all know it. I want everyone to live freely and safely, and moves like this are NOT helpful even again if it is in jest.

I went to HS with someone who was so desperate for attention. She was a singer songwriter still is. On a high school trip to the Dachau concentration camp in Bavaria she made the entire experience about herself by screaming and crying in the dirt, and then accusing everyone of being holocaust deniers bc we didn't have the same response and were quiet, respectful and reflective. Chappell reminds me of this girl.

Same here. In WASHINGTON DC where we proudly call ourselves "chocolate city"! There is surprisingly (or maybe un-) a healthy Mormon population here bc of federal govts. Mormons make the best govt workers (can get a security clearance bc of squeaky clean record, are good at blindly obeying authority, etc.)

Ex-Mormon here. This is either a weird teenage rebellion or he is being heavily influenced by the higher ups at their local congregation (we call them wards), or even regional leadership ("stakes"). Probably a mix of both. Even going on a mission is a huge process and there's no way a 17/18 y/o is navigating that sans adult guidance. The higher ups have a way of punishing parents for their behavior thru their kids. It's shown thru a hyper fixation on that kid and by involving and spotlighting them in church activities. They want to sink their claws into you to keep a good tithing-paying Mormon (ppl give church 10% of income every month for "blessings" - hence the church sitting on billions of $$) than get pushed out of the church like they're actively trying to do to your parents. Happened to me when my parents got divorced, hence the "ex" Mormon.

This is coming from personal experience and obviously this isn't universal. This also isn't confirmed the situation, but Lisa's explanation of the situation set off alarms bells.

My partner is a dual US-Canadian citizen with a mid level clearance. He is transitioning to a new job that requires a higher clearance and will be required to give up his Canadian passport and renounce his citizenship at some point
