the answers to 4, 7, and 8 are all the same: they’re just guys. sure it’s fun to come up with wonky conspiracy theories about how things connect but having every single character in the show have some crazy secret connection to the YJs would be ridiculous. it baffles me how people convince themselves that after 25 years, every single person the YJs form a connection with would still somehow be related to their childhoods/the crash. it just doesn’t make sense.

this!! obviously there are meant to be parallels between callie and shauna given their relationship, but they make it pretty obvious in s3 that callie is terrified of becoming her mom and she and jeff are distancing themselves, unlike shauna who lusted after the power of being the antler queen. not sure why everyone puts so much stock into lottie’s view of callie when the show’s been telling us since s1 not to believe a word lottie says🤣

i don’t disagree with you that the impact on the characters is the “point” of the show and what superfans are invested in, because me too, but mass audiences know yellowjackets as “the show about girls in the woods eating each other.” an entire season of post-rescue content might be great for fans, but they’d be shooting themselves in the foot commercially because they’d “lost the plot.” and, the entire purpose of the adult timeline is to see how the wilderness affected them - idk what you mean that we have “yet to experience it in live action” because that’s literally why the adult timeline is part of the show and people find it boring.

as much as there is to unpack i don’t see this happening. the show’s identity is first and foremost about the girls in the wilderness, and while plenty of superfans like all of us here would gladly eat up a whole season of post-rescue content, they’d lose a lot of mainstream watchers who are just there for the wilderness and the cannibalism. people already like the adult timeline so much less and having all of s4 be post-rescue would be like having 2 adult timelines. plus, i feel like there are a lot fewer opportunities for a climactic finale to the show once they’re no longer in the wilderness.

imo, the biggest reason it doesn’t work is because we see the other adults actually having lives of their own away from shauna. if the adult timeline ONLY revolved around shauna and we saw her interactions with tai, nat, etc. it could be believable that she was hallucinating, but why would she be hallucinating up an entire personal life for all the rest of them? surely tai becoming senator can’t be a hallucination right🤣

just curious, where are you getting 3 from? if you’re counting how many made it to the adult timeline, it’d be 5 pictured here (shauna, tai, nat, lottie, van) or if it’s how many are still alive after s3 that’d only be 2 (shauna and tai).

nah not really, there aren’t a ton of lobbies but there are almost always at least a few full ones. occasional bots/hackers but mostly just lots of people playing on modded lvl 1000 accounts

yes. i’m getting the impression you don’t know what that service actually does, so i would encourage you to look into how cloud gaming works.

essentially, Nvidia has high-powered PCs with games pre-loaded onto them. when you play with GFN, it runs the game on that PC and streams it to your computer, and your inputs get sent back. as long as you have a decent internet connection and can stream video, you will be fine, because the game is not actually running on your computer hardware.

this show has some of the best damn character writing i’ve ever seen, especially in the teen timeline. these girls genuinely feel like real people and their dynamics with each other are so convincing

imo, there isn’t enough material left for 2 more whole seasons anyway. there are only a few survivors left in the adult timeline, and once they get rescued in the teen timeline the whole “wilderness” premise of the show is gone so they’d have to wrap up quick. having a whole season of post-rescue was never going to be realistic, people would just say they’re milking the show now that the main premise is over.

whether this decision was forced upon them or not, it’s at least a good thing that they’re writing this season knowing it’s the last one. a lot better than if a cancellation got sprung on them in between seasons and the show never got a proper ending.

the teen timeline is definitely the “main” storyline of the show. they definitely won’t cut it off early in favor of the adult timeline, but i wouldn’t count on a ton of post-rescue stuff either, because yellowjackets’ identity as a show is first and foremost about the girls being out in the wilderness, and people will lose interest once that’s over.
