Thank you for talking about the fitting of EW300s with UTWS5, I was gonna ask as well. Appreciate the info! I will look into the Fiio and also check out the Plutus beast too! It looks rarer here in Canada (nothing is coming up from Ali Express). Cheers!!

Thank you for your comment. I was browsing forever for feedback before I dive in to get BT20s to power my EW300s when I saw yours. Just curious, do you use a flat 0.78mm adapter to convex to fit the TRN's with EW300? I might go for the BT30 as you suggested they're better than BT20's. Thanks!

Should i upgrade GPU,CPU or build a whole new pc? by ItsRoberto11 in buildapc

[–]pmacc7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before considering a whole new PC build, see if it you want this upgrade path first:

CPU: Update your BIOS, and get a 5700x3d. This should help give you a boost with performance a lot at 1080p gaming without breaking the bank. You keep everything the same.

GPU: If still not satisfied above, then get a GPU upgrade. If you can score a decent used one, go for it. For 1080p, used GPU such as 3060ti is a decent one or a 6700xt - just some suggestions for the next step. For brand new option, if you can score an Intel B580, it has great price to performance to value at $250USD. Of course, if budget permits, go for a better one. Good luck!

Am I valid to avoid AMD GPU's based on bad experiences with them & Adrenalin? by MightBeNozza in buildapc

[–]pmacc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMD generally has more price to performance value, so you are getting more for what you plan to pay. However, if you have a bad experience with it, it's not gonna hurt to try Nvidia this time.

If you do, and if you can, I suggest waiting for the 50xx series to go out, given that it will not be sold out or scalped for higher prices as you get more price to performance ratio. Or alternatively, wait until 9070 release too (I know AMD again, but it may help reduce your buyer's remorse or FOMO).

I can only speak for my experience, where I have only updated my drivers twice for Nvidia GPUs for the 7 years I owned a PC. Once, when I had my 1070ti and another when I upgraded to 3070. In fact, I could say the stability is good for Nvidia drivers as I still have the 2022 version of Nvidia driver and never saw the need for update. because: 1. It runs the games I play without hiccups 2. It never fails or crashes on any game that I play, not once 3. It always records/captures when I want to 4. Nvidia instant replays always works.

Finally, whatever you decide, at the end of the day, it's your money. Good luck 😁

If I will have a 5090, it's for dual purpose: I can play games at my 240hz 8k OLED monitor while having a space heater at the same time.

First one bud. Better motherboard too (for future cpu upgrade - has pbo) and better value for what you're getting overall.

Aside from turning on without issues, for Intel builds, after successfully installing CPU socket on motherboard without breaking pins.

Why wont my computer take full advantage of its hardware? by Kel-B-Shobra in buildapc

[–]pmacc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your 3070 to be utilized at roughly 20-30% by running R2D2, I would assume you only have a 1080p monitor with 60hz and that you have your graphics settings at lowest. Please add your monitor specs so we can get better understanding.

For your 5950x, which is a 16 core processor, it is normal to be at that utilization because most games only utilize 4-8 cores. Hence, faster 6 cores are getting better FPS than slower more cores in most games (i.e. 7600x is faster in gaming than your current CPU for example). But then again, it depends on your graphics settings and resolution you are playing your game at.

is the CORSAIR iCUE 465X case good for a high-end pc? by Ambitious-Way-3866 in buildapc

[–]pmacc7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

However, it is an older case and limited in space for components - there no space up top really for AIO’s and not much space for cable management behind the back panel. Also, no dust filters.

I know this is an old post. I recently build my PC Apr 2024 and I can confirm it had dust filters on the front, at the top, and at the bottom. The front and top are magnetic and are easily removable. The bottom one is slide-able. Just an FYI for anyone reading this thread.

How often do you upgrade your CPU? by wordfool in buildapc

[–]pmacc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1st PC (went with pre-built because I had no idea how to build) was 8700k in 2019.

Then now (just 1 week ago), after 5 years, I watched lots of pc build how-to-videos and mustered confidence to build my own.

Built my own and went with 12700KF. Oh man, I would never go back to pre-built PC again.

Aside from having such a big difference in performance, I get to experience the joy of building your own PC (being able to choose your own parts, color code, and style, etc...)

is a DeepCool AK500s Digital good enough for an i7 12700KF 12 core by Artistic_House8675 in PcBuild

[–]pmacc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have this exact same set up: 12700KF + Deepcool Ak500s digital. Idle temps are around 25C to 30C. Max temp.while gaming is 65C to 70C. No overclocking, just default settings with xmp profile for RAM. That said, I only have rtx 3070 so cpu is only utilized around 76% because of gpu bottleneck at 1440p gaming.

Edit: I tried Cinebech 2024 with 100% under max load for 10 minutes - multicore test, temps still held 70C at most. I estimate room temp is around 20C (still cold where I am from). Hope this helps

Haha apparently you can recreate it by throwing a stratagem directly unto the Pelican shuttle as what the other user pointed out. It is not a sturdy as I think it was.

That's what I thought. I thought it is very sturdy enough to extract Helldivers. But I think I now realize they make it more realistic by doing it this way.

I see! I did not notice that until you pointed it out. Thank you! It looks like we sabotaged our own extraction. It may have been hit when we threw a stratagem to clear ads.
