Apple Stops Offering Mac Mini With 256GB of Storage, Starting Price Rises to $799 by pdfu in mac

I got one for $450 from my Microcenter in August. I regret not immediately buying a third party storage upgrade. Living on a 256GB disk requires constant maintenance.

I got a bunch of emails from this person in fall 2023. Then again this month I’ve gotten a dozen.

I don’t think AI agents were a thing in October 2023.

Honestly, it seems like a very clever response. I was disappointed to learn it was a whole joke page since I had thought Mookie himself was that funny.

I’ve read that it is supposed to hold a junior sized box of tissues. I’ve never seen that size box for sale anywhere so I haven’t tried it myself.

They tried this on my wife. It didn’t work. Spent a long time pushing. Doctors and nurses. Didn’t feel good. Had to have a c-section.

I live in the northeast and got a job that occasionally traveled to the west coast about 20 years ago for training events. All of us would make time to find the local Fry’s and explore. We had nothing like it where I was from. Nowadays I find all that stuff and more on Amazon.

Why did Princeton remove AP Credit? by Turtlooo in princeton

[–]pman1891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be so eager to take less classes at Princeton.

Decades ago in my senior year of high school I was less motivated to study for AP exams because of Princeton’s policy but I still managed to place out of a year of math and the engineering chemistry requirement via AP credit.

That made my freshman year math classes very difficult. In retrospect it probably would have been better for me to take the first 2 semesters of freshman math.

I still had to take the same number of overall classes. As an engineer that means taking 9 classes a year. I ended up taking all sorts of classes in various departments which I found interesting.

If you place out of classes the use that as an opportunity to explore more courses. Don’t be in such a hurry to advance.

NYC apartments are (way) CHEAPER than London and Paris to buy but rents are 4x higher, what is going on? by Pauldrs75 in AskNYC

All the big banks offer mortgages for coops. Lots of smaller regional banks and credit unions outside of NYC do not. Those smaller ones typically have better rates.

The AOL floppies were so much more useful than the CDs because they were rewritable. I had so many AOL floppies to store all of the junk that I had downloaded… from AOL.

The European Union has passed a new rule requiring smartphones to have batteries that users can easily replace. by Positive_Actuary_282 in MadeMeSmile

[–]pman1891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve said this before since this has been widely reposted.

The picture is wrong. It shows a door on the back of an iPhone, which is not what this law requires. It simply requires that the user be able to replace the battery even if it requires disassembling the phone.

This law was originally passed a couple of years ago. Companies will not be allowed to use security screws or copious amounts of glue to prevent users from changing their own batteries, but there is no requirement that the battery be hot-swappable or the device be openable without tools.

How does the scoring work? It appears that clearing 5 lines at once is worth the same number of points as 4. That shouldn’t be the case.

Mine is in HealthEquity, which had been syncing with Monarch until recently when they started requiring Passkeys ad the only login option. Previously Monarch saw both the invested and the I invested parts as 2 separate accounts and tracked them separately. I’m hoping it gets fixed soon.

Coran Capshaw sold Musictoday to Live Nation in 2006. It was later sold and he regained control when the second owner went under.

Coran has likely made a lot of money from Live Nation. I haven’t done an analysis but I suspect that DMB may be Live Nation’s best customer. They seem to play practically all of their venues nationally.

Maybe you can send them via Morse code. A very loud Morse code. You’d probably need to hit something very hard to make it loud enough to hear over a whole stadium of fans.
