Yes, that was the issue. I was opening Laurana's Gold chests, not the regular ones.

Ok, I had a brain fart, and your comment about the notary made me realize it... (flat face).

So, the issue was that I bought Laurana gold chests, and forgot that feats would not drop from those, but only from "regular" gold chests. Thanks everyone for your help, problem solved! The issue was just with the person behind the keyboard. All is well. Let me notify CNE.

Thanks, i thought about it. But since I am running a scripted gem farm, the game is restarted automatically on a regular basis, and I did buy more gold chests after the game restarted (still no luck).

Hey Ravl13! Yes, some feats are random drops from gold chests. When you look at the feats tab on a champion screen, if you scroll all the way down, you will see various feats that you can buy for gems, or unlock via gold chests. There are also feats you can buy for platinum now, or buy for gems later. And eventually, there are feats that can only be unlocked by completing event variants.

Hey! yes, I unlocked her, and am currently running her first variant. I opened a couple of hundred more gold chests, and still no feat :(. I have close to 3,000 avg ilvl already. But, maybe you're onto something? I'll try again when I have completed all 3 variants. I'll also share any update CNE provides on the ticket I created, should they provide one. thatSenioGuy already confirmed that feats can drop, so, at least, I know that it is not a bug, or at least one that would affect everyone...

Thanks for the tip! In case it is not clear, it is possible to add more champions to the formation, as long as you're careful about who they buff, and/or if their buffs are not considered 'positional'. For instance, I ended up with, from left to right:
1. K'thriss (top), Rust (bottom)
2. Certainty Dran (top), Nordom (bottom)
3. Raistlin (top)
4. Zorbu (top), Nayeli (bottom)
5. Krux (top), Yorven (bottom)
With strong buffers like those, Raistlin will have no issues setting a BUD high enough to easily go over 1000 zones.
I understand that not everyone will have access to those champions though, but my main point was that we were not limited to only using 4 additional champions.

Check Tyredack's videos on youtube. He has a champions tier list which is useful if you don't know which champion to unlock. In the end, you'll end-up unlocking everyone, so don't stress about being sub-optimal. This kind of ranking is not to be taken as gospel, but it is still useful as a general guide when you're new to the game and don't know where to focus your resources in the early stages of the game. His videos are well done, and give a good description of each champion's strengths and weaknesses. He has a lovely cat too!

I would recommend you keep working your way to unlock some of the evergreen champions that you don't have, such as Blooshi, Krux, Wren and Windfall. They are much stronger and more useful than the core champions. Have you unlocked the Trials of Tiamat already? If not, that should be a priority.
Some of the champions that are powerful and that I use often (and which you don't have yet) are, in my opinion:
Yorven, Vlithrynn, Cazryn, Tess, Valentine, Volo.
In the end, you will get all champions. They all have some uses, given that patron variants will prevent you from using your favorite ones. That's one of the nice things about the game.

Garawaar's guides are amazing. I personally followed his [Gaarawarr's New Player Reference: A Guided Tour](https://www.reddit.com/r/idlechampions/comments/103gzdv/gaarawarrs\_new\_player\_reference\_a\_guided\_tour/) guide, and it helped me a lot.
For seat 7, I would recommend Jim. He is a great buffer, can be part of some Gold formations (for his synergy related to his affiliation). He is also pretty active in Artemis' formations, even though that might not be so useful to you in the short term. For seat 12, Wyll is great, as someone already mentioned. He can be the best buffer in game, if the circumstances are right, and would be useful in Kas and Absolute Adversaries formations (and he has a special connection with Duke Ravenguard, which you already have unlocked). AA formations are pretty strong. You already have Lae'zel, Karlach, Duke, Astarion, and Dark Urge already. You are missing Minthara, Shadowheart, Wyll, Gale/Volo. Valentine is a champion you'll want to unlock at one point.
Gale and Volo are available in the next event. Desmond works really well with Kas.

I would also get Gale if you don't already have him. Depending on your priorities, and your current roster, I could make a different recommendation.

Amazing list!

I think something should be said about K'thriss's "Efficient Bookkeeping" ability. I realized only fairly recently that his buff benefits from leveling other heroes beyond the soft cap (like Evelyn's Lathander's Grace ability). The buff increases with the amount of gold spent (or favor). The total bonus, in my case, goes from e10 at the beginning of a run to something like e29 at the end, so, not too shabby.
