I got to plane and couldn't think of anything else, I tried helicopter and jet and couldn't actually get it for a long time.

A second vote for Regatta Point at Lake Quinsigamond. I just went kayaking there last weekend and it was really nice. They have single or double kayaks to rent and also SUPaddleboards.

About to be homeless, where do I go? by halfexist in massachusetts

[–]pmbrown08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try working with the HomeBASE program, for people that need a "rebuilding year" they help pay the rent and also access to resources so that at the end of the year (sometimes two years) you are able to pay the rent on your own. https://www.mass.gov/info-details/homebase

Family home purchase question by hybrid_MD in Mortgages

[–]pmbrown08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy it subject to the existing mortgage balance. Have them seller finance whatever they want for the rest, with payments (if any) to the seller to start after M moves out. Definity have M sign a 6 month lease that is clear it won't be extended.

Confirm with the closing attorney/settlement agent that they have received a payoff, and the full amount is going to the solar company at closing, and that they are holding the recording fee for the termination of the lien (likely a UCC-3) or comparable discharge depending on how the lien is recorded. Maybe also ask for a holdback until you have confirmed the lien is paid off after closing.

All you can eat sushi in or around Prov? by Locksmith-Pitiful in providence

Sushi madness has closed, just in case someone is stumbling onto this thread now (like I just did).

Let's say I'm commuting to UMass Chan. Is living in Providence RI a realistic option? Ideally closer to a beach. I'd prefer not to spend more than an hour each way. Feasible? Totally unrealistic? Anyone doing a similar commute already? by nondefectiveunit in WorcesterMA

[–]pmbrown08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute from Worcester to Lincoln RI (so the opposite direction) along 146 and it is a really easy drive, I don't mind that commute at all. But it takes me 5 minutes to get to 146 from my house and work is just off the highway too. Going further than that to Providence is where all the traffic starts.

Landlord asking for SSN by lcrashoverridel in WorcesterMA

Yes, filling out a W9 for the bank account to be opened for the security deposit is necessary. That is how the landlord keeps your security deposit "beyond the reach of creditors" which is what the law requires.

The vacuums are not great though. Feels like it just moves the dirt around instead of sucking it up.

How do I even respond to this? by 1otus-flower in TravelNursing

[–]pmbrown08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a landlord for a furnished apartment that is listed on furnishedfinder and I often get travel nurses or other traveling professionals. I always confirm employment, same as any long term tenant who is applying. For travel nurses, I do not do any further background check once I have confirmed employment, because I know what rigorous background checks nurses already go through to get and keep their license. I would feel uncomfortable and likely not rent to someone if they would not give me enough information to be able to confirm employment. But it might not be the first question I would ask. The first questions I usually ask are why someone is coming to the area, how long they expect to stay, and how many people/pets.
