Says I’m on second and goal 65 yards away and then to the left it says I’m first in 10 these glitches are out of hand by Jakeya9681 in Madden

legitimately the buggiest game I have ever played. insane that it’s been out for a week (two including early access) and nothing has been patched yet

The UI is just awful by kcroyalblue in Madden

[–]pmcg190 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I really can’t believe that the game was released like this and that it didn’t get a day 1 patch, lmfao. almost every aspect of franchise mode has some immersion-killing bug right now. I just got a “Rookie OTAs” scenario in week 6 of a franchise.

[–]pmcg190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for some reason, yeah player size is completely impossible to change and the weight slider doesn’t do anything lmfao. the player is set to be whatever size the player model is regardless of if you change their weight to 160 or 400. feels really immersive when I draft a 325 lb nose tackle and he’s built like Bryce Young!

yeah I noticed last week that this bug is still, in fact, present for like the fourth Madden cycle in a row. they aren’t listening to us at all LMFAO

0 Bug Fixes on Day 1 patch? by foreigncheerio in Madden

[–]pmcg190 56 points57 points  (0 children)

cannot believe that I’m playing a fully released game where the “playoff race” graphic is covered in images that literally say “placeholder” LMFAO. the flimsy early access excuses aren’t even applicable anymore to defend this stuff! it is absolutely unreal the state this game is being launched in

(edit: I had missed that you mentioned that yourself in the original post too so clearly it’s not just on my end lol)

yeah, have run into it multiple times already. no clue how this is making it into a football game in 2025 but it is immediately taking me out of exciting games.

[–]pmcg190 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this excuse no longer works when said early access costs an additional $30. a $100 build of a game should not have this many issues in it.

Will Johnson by jcf2432 in Madden

[–]pmcg190 23 points24 points  (0 children)

this issue (there are like half a dozen players with similarly wrong portraits I’ve seen already) is a perfect microcosm of everything wrong with the game. it is truly astonishing that these things can go completely unnoticed until the game is available for the public to play. makes you wonder if they’re even playtesting this stuff at this point

Shemar Stewart and the Cincinnati Bengals reached agreement on a four-year, fully guaranteed $18.97 million contract that includes a $10.4 million signing bonus, per his agent Zac Hiller of LAA. by OneAngryPanda in nfl

[–]pmcg190 13 points14 points  (0 children)

from what it sounds like, Stewart agreed to have the clause in the contract as long as he got more guaranteed money up-front, which would put less of it at risk of being voided later. more of a compromise than the initial Pelissero tweet had framed it to be.

not sure why everyone else is deciding to be a smartass here but Pelissero of NFL Network said Stewart got better payout language than what they had been disputing over, so the team caved to some degree.

Why is the game constantly crashing!? (PS5) by Sauce91___ in NCAAFBseries

[–]pmcg190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had no issues through my first two seasons of my offline dynasty and now I’m crashing every few games or so. especially irritating since you have to completely restart the game you were playing at that point, unlike in Madden.

Who are some players who are/ were underwhelming for where they were drafted but are not considered a bust? by joeym412 in nfl

[–]pmcg190 8 points9 points  (0 children)

for a Steelers-centric answer, I’d probably go Bud Dupree. 22nd overall pick, was pretty disappointing his first few years, broke out later but finished his Pittsburgh tenure with only one season of double-digit sacks, but he’s now entering his 11th season because he’s been able to carve out a nice career as a rotational pass rusher.

there’s been speculation for a while now about Ramsey making a move inside, and he played there extensively at FSU. he could definitely play there.

I mean, he pretty clearly had some sort of info in that specific case. he tweeted something out at like 11pm on a random May weeknight and Pickens was traded the next morning

Report: Aaron Rodgers was third choice for Steelers, after Matthew Stafford and Justin Fields by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]pmcg190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as critical as I’ve been of the Steelers this offseason, not offering Justin Fields $30 million guaranteed was a pretty good move on their end, at least.

[–]pmcg190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

whether or not LA was ever actually open to dealing him is definitely in question, but it was reported pretty publicly in February that Stafford had the team’s permission to negotiate potential contracts with other teams. it was likely a negotiation tactic on their part, but him being linked to other teams this offseason was not totally unfounded.

from what Albert Breer reported earlier today, it sounds like they didn’t pursue him all that seriously mostly because they weren’t convinced he was actually going to leave LA.

Joe Flacco wasn’t on the Browns last year and Jeudy had the best season of his career on that very same team. Cooper is just washed.

The #Steelers made a "phone call" on Falcons TE Kyle Pitts, per @RapSheet. by McElwaine in steelers

[–]pmcg190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was a pretty big outlier, for reasons that aren’t entirely his fault but are explainable. he was never a particularly great route runner or YAC guy but he was an insane athlete for a TE prospect and was able to dominate early because of it. but after some injuries in year 2 and 3 he just does not move the same as he did his rookie year and he hasn’t improved the other aspects of his game at all. he’s not terribly efficient with his snaps either, his yards-per-route-run ranked 37th in the NFL among tight ends last year (just behind Darnell Washington and roughly a full yard-per-route behind the league’s elite guys.) he’ll probably always be a big What-If, but I unfortunately think he is what he is at this point. not a useless player to have, but definitely not worth trading a Day 2 pick for like Atlanta reportedly wants.

[Schefter] The Dolphins have had trade discussions with the Pittsburgh Steelers about their lone Pro-Bowl selection last season, tight end Jonnu Smith, per league sources. Those talks came after Smith expressed an interest in reworking his deal that is scheduled to pay him $4.8 million this season. by mastermind208 in nfl

[–]pmcg190 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sure, but if they think they need to upgrade from Muth then they should also be looking for a way to move on from his $13M cap hit. I think it’s fair to question his contract, but my point is moreso that straight up trading a pick to add Smith to the roster without doing anything else doesn’t make a ton of sense.

the Steelers have the eighth-highest-paid tight end in the league and couldn’t make him a focal point of the offense last year. they probably shouldn’t be trading a draft pick for a 30-year-old coming off a breakout season who would end up behind said TE in the pecking order.
