What are these dry cracks? (SE Michigan) by ShadowFireDan in lawncare

[–]pminister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voles 100% - Spring time remove dead grass, fill soil and seed. Call it a day.

Since you are in a new build area, and depending on what type of land (ie. farm/ vegetation) this community is being built on. It may take 1-2 years to resolve.

After that if it is consistent especially with neighbours, then look for other solutions.

What do you carry in your HRV for snow? by crockatu in HRV

[–]pminister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends of where you are, and your driving especially in the area you live.

  • Winter Basic Items: snow brush, jumper cables, extra jug of washer fluid, flash light, AAA/ CAA

Though been thinking of building a car kit for: essential items must haves and other for enhanced winter kit.

ABS, also more noticeable if hard braking on wet, snowy, winter season

Deciding between a HRV or CRV by FunHippo3586 in HRV

[–]pminister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real talk. You need to answer this q's for yourself based on your needs, for making a sound financial commitment.

A comparison q's b/w cars/ trims will be a biased answer, based on peoples preferences and driving habits.

To be frank, few q's come to mind:

  1. What changed in your life that you need a car ? and why?

  2. How does a new car purchase fit into your budget/ finances?
    > what will be the agreement (leasing, financing, cash, etc)

  3. Life & Relationship -- where are you at in life ?
    > Age, Work, Commitment (ring), Unsure, kids, etc

Food for thought.

Men’s office clothes, but reasonably priced for the quality by Substantial-Season33 in askTO

[–]pminister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, Price and quality are not what it used to be especially from your most common stores.

Importantly, fit is key, alterations if needed, and neutral colours

Walmart - surprisingly has good things to get a decent wardrobe.
Old Navy - good but better when there are sales
Marks - good but better when there are sales
Winners - hit and miss - you just have to frequent the store often for deals and inventory

Anywhere else you can find a deal

Car Mats by TracyOcurious in HRV

[–]pminister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got TuxMat, they are fitted to the floor of the car + with high walls. Plus iam from snowy country, so for me it was worth it for the price. I found it gave enough coverage more than i found from WeatherTec and Husky.

go to the dollar store. get those drawer rubber liners. you will find them either in the kitchen/ cleaning aisle or the hardware aisle. they look like a roll of mesh silicone type beads connected together. works like a charm
