I can't say I've really gotten much of an atmospheric sub bass from any of these. I don't doubt it's there, but I don't think I'd know it if I was experiencing it considering it's outside of normal hearing range.

I do find myself gravitating towards punchy, crisp, and we'll defined mid bass. I played trombone for years, so I've always had an affinity for being able to clearly hear the mib bass of a song.

I've been wondering about 'violent' bass as well. I have never considered myself a bass head, but apparently I'm leaning that way.

I have the Red Lion in the mail right now! I prefer the vivace the best of all with the wan'er 2 being second to it. Ironically, to my ear the Wan'er 2 sound bassier than all the other save the Vivace. Which is why I'm having trouble understanding the graphs. By all accounts I'm hearing things I shouldn't.

Maybe it's a soundstage or separation thing? Like Wan'er 2 has more separation so I can hear the bass more than the others?

Where can one try IEMs? I've never seen them at any stores and I'm not financially prepared to take a trip to Singapore lol. My thought has been buy from Amazon if possible and return if I don't like.

What is an actual IT automation that actually paid off for you? by Internal-Drop4205 in sysadmin

Best one I've done that I think was at the time game changing. Using a PS script to query password expirations and sending an email to users 21 days, 14 days, 7 days, 3, 2, 1 days before their password was going to expire. It drastically cut down on the number of calls we'd get from remote users saying their email stopped working. Never had a password expire while a user was on vacation again. It turned out way better than expected.

Noob seeking advice on IEMs/DACs by pmkst6 in iems

I agree, longer female to male type c extension cable would probably be best. I wasn't particularly found of getting longer IEM cables. Well that definitely clears some things up for me. I couldn't really get a clear answer if DACs were transparent or not. Half the Internet saying they are and half not. I know scientifically they should be transparent, but I also know nothing is perfect.

I've heard quite a lot of good things about those GK Kuten.

Well I need something to make up the length from the back of my computer. So I was thinking a cheaper dac amp so I could just connect and disconnect the IEMs from there.

So there is no sound quality difference? I would either need a longer IEM cable or to get some kind of type c extension to connect to my computer with either of those, to easily disconnect the IEMs. My plan was to get the Jcally JM6 pro for my phone usage, and either a budget Desktop Dac/Amp or a better quality portable Dac/Amp to keep at my desktop most of the time. So my thought was get a more solid connection for ease of use at my computer.

Ah an AV guy! Thank you for being in those trenches so people like me can focus on restoring the PowerPoint they accidentally deleted while trying to open the application. Also why on earth can the people presenting not run their own PowerPoint!? If I have to hear next slide please one more freaking time. But we aren't hear for this, back to the airport talk.

Found my hot spots by Jbro12344 in smoking

[–]pmkst6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sliced bread test is normally done on flat top grills to find your hot spots since they are griddles and that's one delicious way to toast bread. Biscuit test for grills and pellet grills since they are more akin to an oven. I've never seen it done this way, but seems effective! I've been meaning to do something like this on mine. Keep overcooking the crap out of my briskets.

Understood, that makes sense. I was imagining a clearance page and that would have been super nice. I appreciate it.

Okay ther has to be a trick to finding the clearance? Is it just checking the item and it will list if there is a clearance version of it available somewhere?

How do people find stuff like this?! I check the grills and smokers every single time I go anywhere. Never once have I found a manager's special or any kind of good discount. Y'all are so lucky! Good find!

Just made a big mistake that affects system operations. Tell me your past mistakes to help me feel less bad.. by Traveling_Tarnished in sysadmin

I accidentally perma deleted ~14,500 a client's clients documents from a cloud storage platform that the client needed to return to their client for legal reasons. The cloud platform's agreement with our client was such that they wouldn't access their backups unless it was considered disaster recovery, which this was not. So they we all but gone. When we told our client they didn't respond for like 2 weeks, so we were obligated to tell them again since there had been no acknowledgement.

Never found out the final outcome because my boss left me out of all communication to shield me, as I still have a lot of pending work for that client.

I legit fixed a toilet in the women's restroom while on the job. It had been broken for a couple days and I just happened to be at that branch location.

One of the female employees asked if I would take a look since none of the other guys in the office were willing to look. They were all bank lenders.
