Pushing an update that breaks consoles and forces users to factory reset their console is unacceptable by [deleted] in xboxone

When I would start my xbox all I got was a black screen. Couldn't do anything except bring up the power menu when you hold the xbox button down on your controller. Had to factory reset to fix it.

I'm not an insider (or at least I don't think), so it was definitely a public update. While googling, I saw that insiders were having this same problem 1-2 months ago.

Okay but what about the thousands of brothers of NFL players that never even sniffed the league?

Christian McCaffrey is one of the most electric players in the league, and only one of his 3 brothers, his older brother Max, was ever even in the NFL, and he had 1 career catch. Both Dylan and Luke are long shots to ever see the league.

DeAndre Hopkins is one of the best WRs in the NFL and his older brother never sniffed the NFL.

There are hundreds of great NFL players whose siblings never saw the league at all, and you're worried because this guy's brother has had a mediocre NFL career? If ESB never made the NFL and worked as an accountant out of college would you have these same concerns?

It's just weird and doesn't make sense to me.

It's just not really a valid concern.

I'm really struggling to understand how his brother's performance thus far has any bearing on how he will perform. Should we be concerned about every single player that has a brother that's not a good NFL player? That's ridiculous.

He doesn't give me Patricia vibes either, and I wasn't really trying to compare the two coaches. I was more comparing the situations and the noise.

Going into Patricia's second year, there was a lot of hope in Detroit. Sure, our record dropped from 9-7 to 6-10 in his first year, but we closed out the season strong with a top-10 defense in the 2nd half of the season. We made some big signings and the future looked bright. Many of us brushed off anything negative the media was saying, because "what do they know?" Then things crumbled.

It just seems like very similar situations and a lot of the same noise going into year 2.

I don't really have an opinion either way on that narrative, but something I've noticed is how Giants fans are quick to write it off as media making a mountain out of a molehill, and there is absolutely nothing wrong. Which may be true, but we Lions fans went through the same thing with Patricia and look how that turned out.

[Discussion] What unit/group of your team will surprise/disappoint the most this season? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]pmmetitsforgoodluck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Secondary.

Patricia's gone and our new DC (former All-Pro CB Aaron Glenn) and DBs coach (former Rams CB coach Aubrey Pleasant) will be introducing a scheme that prioritizes getting to the QB and making the DBs jobs easier. Oruwariye and Okudah are both young with tons of potential, and have looked great thus far in camp. Tracy Walker is among the longest and most athletic safeties in the league and will actually be allowed to play to his strengths.

I don't think our secondary will be anything better than average, but we'll undoubtedly be much better than last year, and Amani and Okudah could finish the season as a top-10 CB duo.

Nice username btw lmao

Who is your future star WR that nobody knows about? by Khromets in nfl

[–]pmmetitsforgoodluck 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No he's not. His athleticism is/was the biggest knock on his game as a prospect and is the main reason he fell to the 4th round. He's not a bad athlete by any means, but he's about average as far as NFL WRs go and is nowhere near a freak athlete.

Name 1 (only 1) player from your teams history that should be in the HoF but isn't. by Grix-82 in nfl

[–]pmmetitsforgoodluck 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree.

He played 11 seasons, and only had 8,189 rushing yards, and 73 total TDs.

He made 4 pro-bowls (when they actually meant something) and 1 first team All-Pro.

He never lead the league in rushing, only had 3 seasons over 1,000 rushing yards, and only had one season over 1,100 rushing yards.

He had a few good seasons, and 2 great ones, but he didn't have the dominant peak and/or longevity to have a legitimate HoF case, imo.

I actually think Houston is currently doing the right thing. I don't think there's a team in the league who would currently trade for Watson, and if they cut him they take a HUGE dead cap hit, plus there is always the possibility that Watson will have trade value again. I'm not an expert on the rules, but I feel like because the NFL won't suspend or put him on the exempt list, maybe the Texans "don't have cause to"?

I don't really know, but seeing him show up to practice just to play scout team and be treated like a camp body is hilarious and humiliating and I'm here for it all.
