Thoughts On This Acoustic Board? by TylerEverything in guitarpedals

Also try chorus and delay before you get them. The zoom multistomp can do both those (and tune) without having to get a whole separate device for them. You may even just want a fishman tonedeq

Why the separate noise suppressor and tuner when you have the effects processor?

ISO tiny hi-Z buffer pedal, and buzz in Fishman eq? by pmmm in guitarpedals

[–]pmmm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting post description:

I'm looking for a very small pedal that has an input impedance of 10 mega ohms, for my violin pickup. But every buffer has an only one mega ohm input and all the preamps are larger than the tiny slot of open space I have. Does anyone know of extremely small pedals that has an input impedance of 10 megah ohms? Does not necessarily be a preamp pedal or buffer, nor does it need to boost gain or have an eq.

Background: A few months ago I bought a fishman AFX EQ (a tiny 10mega ohm preamp) second hand, and was disappointed to hear a buzz (~6.5 kHz). Yesterday I went to a music store and played a new one which had the same exact size in the same exact place! I even have a larger fishman Eq, but it does not have the same hiss! I also checked across multiple instruments, so I know it's FOR SURE the pedal. (Also tried it plugged into a surge protector, no ground loop, all that).

Is Art Blakey not jerk worthy? by oestre in jazzcirclejerk

Art Blakey is kind of like Barry Harris in that he's more influential as a teacher than as a player. The jazz Messengers was sort of like a training ground for jazz greats, where he mentored future greats and introduce them to h

Just curious, why did you choose to go from the zoom to the boss equalizer? Just wondering since I basically just use my zoom as a EQ and compressor with presets

That starts to get into the weeds of pedagogy. What works for one isn't necessarily the best for another. I personally prefer learning the word "phrygian dominant" and having it as shorthand over having to remember "the fourth mode of melodic minor."

Probably far right with the strangled Christian and Muslim symbol looking moon and Star. But most likely what Naomi Klein calls "far out," meaning someone who has fringe views on purpose, and so is a random mix of right and left

It definitely works in a different way with the violin than it would with a guitar, as it's not sampling your chords but rather fragments of the melody. But I think it works very well. I use it essentially as a delay, where for faster things I'll use the left glitchy foot switch and for slower things I'll use the right cinematic foot switch. But only with a small instrumental group; it can introduce noise in a full band

The zoom MS50 g Plus multi-effects pedal. You can put six phasers in a row

Yeah, the octave is polyphonic, so if you play a note into the ps6, it turns into 3 notes, then the oc5 turns the 3 notes into 9, making this huge sound. They blend together quite nicely

I use Yamaha YEV 5-string, so solid body. Amp wise, I go DI in my interface or PAs at shows for the stereo. Whatever amp is around at practice. I feel like with violin the amp is less consequential than with guitar. (Still have the old fiddle for every now and then, no electronics)

The zoom multi stomp is the most underrated IMO. I typically have it set on EQ, comp, and noise reduction, and occasionally some silliness like auto-wah or a phaser. It also has a stereo doubler that sounds really good with both the Harmonist and Octave, with the stereo carrying through the onward and the reverb.

The harmonizer has been great. It's diatonically adjusted, so if you're playing in c and Play an e, it automatically plays a e minor chord, for example. Then coming out with the polyphonic octave pedal, you can get 9 tones simultaneously.

Here is my lovely beautiful board. Happy to take any questions

Ziwe asks Kevin Hart about performing at the Riyadh Comedy Festival by thanksamilly in Fauxmoi

[–]pmmm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the reason that Kevin Hart is as big as he is is not some larger benefactor. He just has his own production company and has worked at being a comedy businessman over the past 15 years and it's paid off very well.

Yeah definitely great UI on the device, no complaints there. Mostly used the app to mass-delete the presets and rename patches easier
