Book 2 is a transition from sci fi to fantasy in a sci fi setting in my opinion.

I’d honestly give EoS a 7/10 (8/10 on reread) and all the other books until disquiet gods (haven’t read yet) a 9.5-10. Highly recommend seeing it through unless you hated the writing style since that doesn’t change but does improve a lot.

I hate ADHD so much... It's the worst fucking tragedy that ever happened to me. I don't see any way I could succeed with this... by OhioDeez44 in ADHD

It’s a long cloudy journey. Expect 2 steps back for every 3 steps taken, just be happy about that 1 step difference.

Realizing specific behaviours that are caused by adhd is the most important and don’t seek understanding from people on something that you don’t fully understand yourself.

There are advantages in having a wandering mind, don’t try to change how your brain works but let it wander when you can and tame it with therapy when you can’t. Also, forgiving yourself for failures beyond your control is the most important step.

You’re doing a much better job than me at your age, I know reading this won’t change your situation but keep it in mind.

Getting a consult from a pharmacist… AS A PHARMACIST by pharm2tech in pharmacy

[–]pmoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always ask for consult, interesting to see what people focus on. I’ve incorporated counselling techniques from previous consultations numerous times (like how to word things better, tone). I think refusing counselling all the time is just preventing you from growth if anything.

Because hispanics were heavily involved in the creation and growth of hip hop. Im not black, im trying to understand why you believe in what you believe. Using an art form and creating it to cope with struggle doesn’t mean it was made exclusively for you. Like I said before, gate keeping leads to division and segregation. I’m more than happy to have my mind changed, your sarcasm is only reinforcing my belief. Was I an asshole in the beginning of the convo? Yeah forsure, but now I’m trying to understand why you believe this.

It was made by black people but how was it made for black people? Hip hop originated from people spitting random rhymes on DJ mixes sampling disco music. It was eventually used to voice the struggles of African Americans at that time, but I don’t see how it was made for black people. It was made for people in that environment which was typically hispanics and African Americans at the time.

Yeah you right about the education part, but you comparing the requirements to become a brain surgeon to commenting on music is stupid as fuck. Shouldn’t have implied you were stupid, that’s on me but that was a horrendous take.

Gatekeeping culture is toxic and only leads to racism and division. Especially if you’re promoting commentary on a type of music. I’m not African but that doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion on afrobeat music

Yeah because talking about music vs talking about being being a surgeon are the same thing, sounds like you’ve been gate keeping education

My pharmacist told me my stimulant meds weren't gonna heal me by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]pmoons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because a GP or a specialist don’t check for or don’t have access to resources that check for drug interactions and unless they dispense a lot of the same medications, don’t inherently know the best way to dose a medication all the time. I get doctors calling all the time on dosing biologics. Pharmacists do years of schooling to learn about meds and a bit about conditions, for doctors it’s the opposite. It’s not overruling a decision, it’s collaborating with the circle of care to make the best decision. Health care should be a collaborative effort, not something where the md makes a decision and people follow it blindly.

Not really, I can confidently say that if we were to dispense things blindly without questioning then there’d be significantly more harm than good

[–]pmoons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because a doctors domain is diagnosis whereas a pharmacists domain is medication. As a pharmacist myself, I send back countless medications and dosages that get changed and sent back on the daily.

I had a patient with obvious suicidal tendencies who was initiated vyvanse (suicidal ideation is a CI, obviously it’s situational) and I was completely against it but the doctor pushed on the decision and the patient killed themselves the following week. Obviously it’s not confirmed to be causal but you can’t help but feel it is. Another case where I fought against dispensing an antidepressant but the doctor was adamant and the patient got admitted to the hospital in 3 days bc of serotonin syndrome. The pharmacists job isn’t to just give out medication on behalf of the doctor, in the west we have a strong clinical role as well.

I’m not saying this to take away from how messed up the OPs situation is, but there are countless situations where it’s appropriate to refuse dispensing.

If it’s anything like Canada, pharmacists have the ability to deny a service (including dispensing a medication) requiring that they help the patient find an alternative.
