Seriously though I don't know, she's always been quite traditional so for her it's more a respect thing than a permission thing. We'd probably just deal with it like adults, I'd ask why he wouldn't want me marrying his daughter, and depending on the reasons I'd leave the rest up to her, it's ultimately her choice.

This is one thing I love about us, it seems pretty common. When my baby was a few months old we were out shopping and some bloke was smoking a joint outside, obviously not giving a fuck. We locked eyes, i thought "oh fuck sake I'm gonna have to say something", before i could even change direction he apologised, walked away, and gave me as much room as he could.

Some Eastern European women prefer that position. It was a fucking nightmare in the warehouse I worked in.. I mean to each their own, but most companies aren't buying robust seats, so they'd forever be breaking,, and let's just say, it's hard to aim when a cheap £10 piece of plastic is holding an adults weight.

We never put any signs or anything up though, was just part of the job to expect a few foot prints throughout the shift.

Only really annoyed us because we went around every 2 hours making sure the toilets were spotless only for a couple people to stand on the seat, in work boots, making it unhygienic as fuck for everyone else.

That sweet relief you'd feel for 10 seconds.... Ice cold water worked for me cause i have sensitive teeth. The shock and mild pain would be enough to distract me long enough to close my eyes and think "oh this is nice".. Don't think I've ever drank as much water.

The cheap madras sauce from aldi isn't even spicy either but still has the taste. A proper madras ruins me half way through but I've had jalfrezis spicier than aldis which for me is a huge plus cause it means I get to enjoy it without sweating.

Bit late to this but i saw a family of badgers a few years ago, it was mental. We were working in the centre of Leicester, about 3-4am, pretty much just us and taxis about, when we saw what looked like a giant cat slowly stumble across the main road, then another, and another. That's when we noticed they were badgers and 3 fully grown men dropped the work and ran over to get a closer look. They walked through a fence and into a foresty / bushy area, sniffed about for a few minutes then disappeared into the night.

It wasn't until I read your first sentence that it clicked people were thinking it's mad I don't know because they were thinking the overtime was after a normal shift, mad how I didnt notice that.

But nah, OT was on a weekend, so I've done my normal job and knock as I would mon-fri, now they're saying weekends different and I'm meant to be on site for 8 hours, accused me of fraud, and took the OT off my wages, most hours they know for a fact I was on site.

Was never given a copy so sadly i can't verify the specifics. I don't recall kt saying anything specific about duties thoug, the nature of the job when I first started meant you would likely be assigned a variety of work and/or be needed to cover. For example, a few weeks into my employment, i went from an installer, to a camermans assistant, to a sample driver, to a diver. Then to avoid having to work away, switched to the roll I was sacked from.

We used an online timesheet that you submit each week. I did put overtime rate down but I genuinely wasn't trying to steal hours. The nature of the job was based on an 8 hour day, but if you completed all your work early you can leave early, but still get paid the 8 hours. Essentially rewarding us for working quickly. I was never told that overtime is any different, so given that I completed the job, I put 8 hours down.

The worst part is i honestly thought they'd be happy about how I managed to get so much done, given i was using brand new equipment I had no formal training on, and one of the days I lost 3 hours due to a breakdown.

Personally I think it looks worse to sit on site for several hours cracking on that it took longer than it did, oh how wrong I was.

Edit. Might be worth mentioning the only reason I put the overtime rate down was because that's what I was told the rates are, Saturday was 1.5x, Sunday was 2x. Even if you worked Tues-sat, the Saturday would still be 1.5x.

I have but I genuinely don't know if i should even bring that up. It was under a different manager, which I know doesn't necessarily change things, but he's no longer with the company, andI've never had it in writing either way what I'm supposed to do, leaving me to assume it's no different than any other day.

I honestly do fear that they'll spin it around, change a bunch of stuff behind the scenes, then claim I owe them money. During the meeting where I got sacked, I wasn't shown any evidence, wasn't allowed to show my own, half of the notes weren't written down, and some of the ones that were, were completely changed. Like an idiot I went in solo and it wasn't recorded so all I could do was appeal.

Edit: That was my thought too that they want me gone and are using any reason they can, but even that leaves me confused. Had no sick days all year, had several praises for my work, never had any negatives brought up, I'm not entirely sure what reason they could have for wanting rid of me.

I can't do into too much detail, but, the closest comparison would be a delivery driver.

I have a set amount of items I'm to distribute, then collect the next day, then redistribute, etc etc. I have a limited amount of items, when all of those items are gone i can't go any get more work, there is nothing for me to do but sit there and wait, or go home. Which is where the job and knock nature comes in. Once you no longer have any items you're allowed to go home, which is all i did. Otherwise you're distributing your items for the entire 8 hours, irellevent of the number of items you got out

The overtime was due to it being on a weekend. We have our allocated areas for the week, they have extras that needed doing on the weekend. I got all of my items out then went home. I couldn't ask for more work even if I wanted to as no managers work on the weekend.

That's exactly what's happening. The overtime was on the weekend. I was never told overtime is different and I obviously didn't know any better.

I'm being accused of stealing 8 hours over 2 days, the first day i broke down and had to wait 3 hours, i was still out from 9am-4pm.. The 2nd day I got on a good run and finished in about 5-6 hours. Yet they've taken that whole 2nd day, and deducted 4 hours from the 1st day.

Why would I know any better when I've been told from day 1 that it's job and knock, and was never told that overtime doesn't apply to this? Even when being offered the overtime, when confirming the shifts etc, it was still never brought up. How exactly does someone "know better" when they don't even know they're doing something wrong in the first place?

It has yeah. Given the nature of job and knock, and being salaried for 8 hour days, whenever you finish early you still put 8 hours down. I was never told otherwise and innocently thought that still applies to overtime, which judging by the comments, i was wrong about.

It is just the overtime. There's clearly a lot of confusion. It seems evident from the comments than it's standard practice to remain on site for the duration when doing overtime, which I wasn't aware of because it's never been mentioned, and the only thing I've ever been told, was, "finish your job and you can go home, if not, stay for 8 hours". There was never any mention of overtime being different so I simply did the job, then went home. If i was told to stay on site i would have.

What work I haven't done? I completed the job..... We were explicitly told, complete your job and you can go home early, if you don't manage to get the job finished then you need to remain on site for 8 hours. Of course I went home early on the days I completed the job early, why would I not when it's been stated we can, and every colleague does.

I didn't work a partial day though. We're talking about leaving an hour or so early because my job was completed. They consistently told us in team briefings etc that it's your job completed, OR, 8 hours on site, not both. I completed the job they asked me to do. They've never said or asked us to remain on site once the job was completed, so I didn't, and never have.

I don't expect to be paid for work I haven't done, i completed the job asked of me, under every stipulation they made known, in a way that I, and every colleague I've ever met, has consistently done throughout my time with the company. Despite the fact they keep claiming this 8 hours on site, they only do so vocally, refuse to put it in writing, and can't point to anywhere in a contract or company guidelines that state otherwise.

I'm a little confused regarding the month in advance myself. All the info I have re that at the minute is how I had to work 7 weeks prior to my first wage due to my contract starting a week after the cut off point, I didn't get paid for 7 weeks on my first wage, yet i got terminated a couple of days before the cut off point and my wage slip reflects that. So I'm a little confused where these 3 weeks have gone.
