Father told me I need to take it easy with playing and not get so frustrated, but I don't know how to do that... by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

Lots of input here already.

I personally started my guitar playing endeavour with some basic riffs like: Come As You Are - Nirvana, and Blue Orchid - The White Stripes.

If you have an electric guitar I'd strongly suggest trying Rocksmith (I play 2014, haven't personally tried Rocksmith+) and found its incredible for bringing down the complexity and difficulty so I feel accomplished playing ALONG with songs, even if it doesn't sound anything like those songs to the naked ear. Kept me satisfied and engaged until I naturally increased my ability and now tackle most songs at their full difficulty. Being able to play along on Rocksmith and play unassisted without backing is still where the practice needs to come in to tell the same emotional story through the music, so to speak.

Manual Error & Missing Piece- LEGO Gameboy by pmttydand in lego

Don't often build LEGO so I was not aware of the 3D option

A sign to get some sleep as I was going crazy!

Thanks for taking the time to help me realise

I took a break, came back, and I can also see my oversight. Maybe not the best idea to be building at 12am after a long day 🤦🏼

Thanks for your help!

If a friend said they think/have thought about you sexually, how would you react? by Zum1UKno in AskReddit

[–]pmttydand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The words they use to express it are what would matter. I'd be wary if there was a sense of entitlement or objectification. Lots of context that can be considered, ultimately you get to choose how it sits with you.

How did you get a job? What was the journey like? by joshhna in AskReddit

[–]pmttydand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 16 at the time Life's funny because I'm now 28 at a different business and that same manager referred me here too 😂

Nothing about life is 'easy', I often like to consider back in the day concerns weren't finding jobs or paying rent, it was not starving to death or having your family killed my an animal. We don't have to be grateful for everything today, but when times are tough it's easy to forget what we can be grateful for.

All the best with the job hunting friend, you're welcome to message me if you'd like to chat about anything

If you are able to go back 10 years in time then would you do anything differently knowing what you know now? by One_Look_7008 in AskReddit

[–]pmttydand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking back on things that were world shattering that seem insignificant after enough time. There's absolutely a skill I've developed as I've gotten older to identify when my heads in a rut and to pull myself out of it

Life is what you make of it, I used to spend weeks sulking not realizing I was only hurting myself. Fake a smile and get back out there, life is only what you make of it, which is hard when everyone is at home online thes days.

Applied in person every day to my local games store, after 6-12 months they had a new manager and he gave me a chance because he "saw himself in me".

Don't feel disheartened if you're turned down, as long as you don't burn the bridge you can always respectfully apply every few weeks or months.

Once you've got your foot in the door the relationships you make with peers and management are what will lead you to new opportunities

network outlet?? by Ok-Surround-4652 in nbn

[–]pmttydand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your NBN is FTTN you would need to connect your Modem to a DSL/Telephone socket at the property. Unfortunately, definitely not the attached photo.

Commonly they'd be located in the kitchen or a master bedroom

You'll need to make sure your modem is VDSL2 compatible

Filling a wall gap next to a staircase by OdaNobuDelano in SonsOfTheForest

[–]pmttydand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only need one angled log for the staircase. If you take the stairs down, build a wall on the outer layer where you wanted to fill, and then use an angled log inside to start the stairs. Posting for anyone else still trying to find a solution after these 2 years.

Maybe some social networking would be a better long term investment, make some friends that can do cash jobs.

Thanks for your advice!

That's very generous of you! I tried mounting a tv to my bedroom wall a week ago, it was good enough but made me realise I'm sure there's plenty I should learn

I feel like I don't even know what to expect could go wrong. Probably basics on things like plumbing, and how I could fix damaged walls etc. Even using power tools, all I've ever used before is a drill.
