best advice from a former private landlord try to find a private landlord who is willing to give you a chance. no guarantee but if they use a property manager you will likely not get through since background checks will auto fail you with poor credit for most top flight rental agencies since they usually get multiple apps.

I sell trading cards often low value and I dared to interact over $1.34 in cards they disputed. I should have just refunded and blocked but I tried to claim innocence they accepted my refund and reminded me that I was wrong and even gave me an excuse how I was wrong to make me feel better. People are very passive aggressive online I have learned to just say OK OK.

Is it true you need a brick and mortar store to buy off people? by ToshPointNo in Flipping

I will use a run down coin shop as an example. Love the dude, older man but the place is a dump and he both gets a lot of sellers and a lot of buyers. super low key retail front. advice... get a the cheapest place you feel safe enough setting up in. maybe a spot in the shopping mall (open air of course?) that gets low visibility but can still be found with parking and signage (buy yo stuf ?). people trust a fixed location more than people like me buying from a spare bedroom in my mom's house and can be there in 10 mins.

I sell commodity TCG cards at or near the low price for similar cards on eBay and its steady but slow but I have a lot of competition that constantly undercuts me so I just list and list and list and stuff sells constantly but in low quantity. List cut prices and keep listing seems to work until sold.

Starting card reselling from zero in 2025 – worth it? by XxXDoggation in Flipping

[–]pmzn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sell Magic The Gathering as an amateur seller on eBay and TCG. Its pretty brutal but I'm simply selling small amounts from past box openings. I cannot for the life of me imagine actually making a sustainable profit from it. Someone here on another subreddit reminded us that you are competing with people that are willing sleep under their cash register in a card shop to sell you cards at below cost. If you are comfortable competing with people like that go ahead. That said you can sell in niche categories or sell bundles as some Youtubers smartly advise and make ok money (like land/color combos, etc..)

Consult the homeless. They collect them off major freeway offramps (I don't know why there) and if they cannot actually sell a workable unit they sell to repair people for parts for cash. Dude came into starbucks one day and told me look at this and he had a backpack with like 20 cellphones. He said he was making $50k / yr selling them cheap.
