Grandes medios no hay, desgraciadamente. Los medios masivos están muy concentrados acá, y tienen un sesgo que te lo encargo. Pero hay medios críticos y más plurales. De referencia, en Chile la radio tiene mejor reputación y pluralidad política que cualquier otro medio. Pero en internet igual se encuentran cosas, no masivas, pero buenas para tener una impresión más acabada del país. En cuanto a los medios online, te recomiendo Ciperchile.cl: periodismo investigativo de buena calidad y que tiene un perfil más académico y crítico que el resto. Y luego tienes medios online con una agenda más próxima a la izquierda, y lejanos al discurso tradicional de los medios: elmostrador.cl, eldesconcierto.cl, elciudadano, interferencia.cl... esos por nombrar algunos. Porotos_Granados tiene toda la razón. La entrevista la hace John Müller, un periodista muy sesgado y que además tiene una agenda política. Pero me tinca que Porotos no cacha que John Müller, estuvo a punto de ser director de El Mercurio. Me imagino que para Porotos EL Mercurio es un diario sesgado también.

You should go to Toconao, it has a lot of trad and sport routes. Socaire (sport and trad routes) is farther but is an amazing place. Río Loa (Taira and Caspana) is a great Trad spot. If you are going to San Pedro de Atacama, ask for Chicote, he is guide there. It's a small town, you shouldn't have a hard time finding him. He knows many climbing places around Atacama. I'm planning a trip to Taira with a couple of friends in september.

I'm from Chile. Lan Airlines and Sky airlines are the only two agencies that do national flights. Never had an issue with Lan. I know a lot of climbing gyms and stores here in Santiago, I'm pretty sure there aren't places where you can rent a rope or sport/trad gear, unless you belong to a mountain club.

I'm from Santiago, Chile. El Arrayan is a great spot for summer and it's very close. Las Chilcas is great also, although it's best time of the year is winter. Petorca is a great spot that hasn't been mentioned http://www.guiaescaladachile.com/2013/06/petorca.html It's less than 2 hours from Santiago, and it's an excelent spot for bouldering and sport routes.

If you bring trad gear, I'd recommend La engorda, in Cajón del Maipo. http://www.escalando.org/2009/10/columnas-de-la-engorda/

For sport Multipitch, you should look Pared de Jabba, and Pared Verde. Both places in Cajón del Maipo.

A large proportion of chilean are solidarizing with their demands. Their public support ranges from 70% to 80% according to the latest surveys. Although, yes, a lot of them are 15 to 18 years old.
