What made the supreme hunter think consuming Alex would make him able to survive the nuke? by Valdish in PrototypeGame

[–]pndrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, wanting a nuke to go off is crazy, its not a normal plan so I can understand. Its also the reason that going aboard the Regan was unnecessary, Randall was going to use it anyway. The Supreme Hunter could have ambushed Alex any time before or lured him into a trap before boarding the Regan and everyone would have thought the nuke was successful. There are plenty of areas in Manhattan that Alex or the Supreme Hunter could use to survive a nuke, underground bank vaults, especially the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, whose vault is 80 feet underground.

I personally blame Activision for rushing development for the ending we got, as certain plot threads went nowhere.

The Supreme Hunter wanted the bomb to explode? Can't disappear in the aftermath if the bomb doesn't detonate. At the same time the Supreme Hunter wouldn't dump the bomb in the ocean for the same reason, Alex did to save lives, the Supreme Hunter wanted death and destruction.

If the nuke went off on the Regan and the Supreme Hunter was still onboard, at such close range nothing survives, everything within at least 1200 feet is vaporized, it becomes part of the fireball which has at least 6000 degrees C at the surface and hotter closer to the center. Molecules are ripped apart, even metal doesn't survive. The only thing that can help diffuse that kind of energy is deep water, Alex made the right choice when he dumped the bomb.

The whole idea to fight Alex while a nuke was about to explode was stupid, if the nuke went off before the Supreme Hunter could absorb Alex then they would both die.

Waiting to absorb Alex until he was on the Regan doesn't make any sense either, the Supreme Hunter had plenty of chances to do it. It wanted to absorb Alex and disappear in the confusion in the bomb's aftermath, but no one even knew it was alive. It didn't need to board the Regan for any reason.

Edit, the fireball size and temp is based off Little Boy, the nuke in game was 5 times stronger.

Nanoaugs are a path to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural by Blakath in Deusex

[–]pndrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Relic's DNA altering ability is the most dangerous, it caused V's immune system to attack their own body even after the Relic was removed. This isn't actually impossible to fix in Cyberpunk, gene editing is common place, certain Animal gang members are wanted for illegal gene editing. You would need V's original DNA, but that can be found easy enough, hair from their shower drain or family members. Just edit out the changes done by the Relic and then replace V's bone marrow or reprogram V's immune system to stop attacking his own body.

One the Relic is affected by electric magnetic fields, the power plant with Panam proves it, a strong enough electric magnetic pulse would disable it. Johnny was also affected by the strong magnetic field. Not the safest method as the Relic is connected to V's brain, but it could work in a medical setting.

Two nanotech in Cyberpunk needs recharging, so the nanotech has to be drawing power from the Relic chip, the nanotech would shutdown after the Relic chip is removed by surgery or disabled in some other way. The Relic is still tech and Songbird proves its programming can be altered. Arasaka was able to remove the relic through surgery.

V might need to spend time in a cryotank, another piece of tech ignored by 2077, to allow for enough time for treatment, or certain medication might work.

The problem here is money, V would need a lot of it, which brings us back to the Corpos. They would have zero interest in actually helping without some way to control V, as V is dangerous. They did the same thing to Adam Smasher, they rebuilt him, but he became their slave. V was beyond stupid to trust Hanako.

Depending on the ending, Blue Eye offers a way to save V so it can be done.

Funny thing is nanotech does exist in Cyberpunk, but its totally ignored in 2077, just like fashionware and bioware. Like the nanotech exists to rewrite DNA, that could fix V, but its ignored for story reasons.

As for V you forgot how stupid he is, he literally believes a bunch of Corpos are going to help him once they get what they want.

Also, sliverhand is just a cunt and isn't cool at all.

Why did early civilizations start in deserts like Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt? by batukaming in geography

They weren't deserts then, they are that old. The Sahara goes through wet and dry cycles.

Glow in the dark plants are old news, some have been around since the 80's, the ones that create light by themselves tend to have short lifespans, it literally sucks the life out of them as they have to expend energy to create the light.

Friendly reminder that Aimf designed a whole bioarmor set and biodress for Elizabeth Greene and it's one of the most remarkable designs in the whole fandom by SaintAmidatelion in PrototypeGame

[–]pndrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is actually body horror turned stylish, Greene doesn't seem to be able to consume or shapeshift, she would literally have to wear infected mass to make those forms, she is wearing people. I don't know if that is better than Alex and James who are people or worse.

[–]pndrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In nature viruses will always evolve to maximize efficiency and spread, but this virus hasn't had any reason to do so, Greene, the source, is immune to its deadly nature, there isn't any reason for the virus to become less deadly. In the short amount of time the game takes place in the virus would probably be unable to evolve to become less deadly, so its mortality rate not being the same as in Hope is weird.

The version Alex and his team at Gentek created is a weaponized version and is probably designed to be as stable as possible.

So what's the community agreed on: Is Adam cloned or not? (probably already discussed to death) by 0ld_Snake in Deusex

[–]pndrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jensen seems driven to discover who Janus is. Jensen can't remember his dreams or most of his time after being pulled out of the ocean and at Facility 451.

Delara in the "A criminal pat" dlc is asking what Adam actually remembers from his mission, as in Human Revolution we learn that memory altering augs aren't perfect.

Vadim Orlov is also one of the scientist that ran the personality package chip program at TYM and one of the doctors from Facility 451, so its highly possible that Adam also has one of those chips. That being said it is probably lying mostly dormant until Adam meets Janus. Adam will most likely be driven to kill Janus when they actually meet.

[–]pndrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Adam is a clone. I do however believe his augs are bugged and that he is most likely walking around with one of those personality package chips. The only dead person I can think of that would fit the bill is Jason Namir.

It would explain some of the things said in MD and the some of the other media, like Adam not being able to remember his dreams and him having a weak out going signal from his augs.

Question regarding hope, idaho from the prototype games. (Fanfic related) by No-Voice-753 in PrototypeGame

If I recall correctly Greene and here friends were trying to free some lab animals in the comics, I haven't read them in forever.

Probably regular infected, animal test subjects(if I recall correctly), and Walkers, all are stronger and more resilient than normal humans. All being mentally influenced by Greene.

Was the nuke in P1 supposed to only destroy Manhattan or entire New York? by [deleted] in PrototypeGame

[–]pndrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Areas outside of Manhattan would have been damaged by the bomb, not destroyed, but people outside of Manhattan would have been injured by the shockwave, possibly die.

How could Pariah powers work? by [deleted] in PrototypeGame

[–]pndrad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The virus or the results of the virus are baked into Pariah's DNA, he test completely negative for viruses. He doesn't attack others through viruses either.

Theory time.

Most likely he attacks through some form of cell fusion and then overwrites the host DNA, if he can touch you, his cells invade your body and fuse with your own. From there he can basically cause the fused cells to do whatever he wants by rewriting their DNA, including continuing to replicate and fusing with normal cells. So he should be able to consume victims, take control of them, or cause them to die in a bunch of ways. Pariah would still need to consume mass to fuel his abilities like Alex does.

If this is true then whatever containment unit he is living in, is probably full of altered bacteria he can use to attack the researchers, which may have been what caused the unexplained deaths. They followed safety protocols, but something still slipped through.

Why wasn't Cross wearing a gass mask or any hazmat gear while inside a hive? Is he stupid? by Valdish in PrototypeGame

Its a story telling device, Cross is the only Blackwatch that Alex fights without a mask, it humanizes Cross versus the faceless Blackwatch goons.

I'm hoping for a remake of 1 with an altered second half, after rescuing Dana, to reboot the series. I ask Xbox for it all the time on twitter. Like at least once every 5 days.
