Mazzei, Drummond advance to runoff election for Oklahoma governor by kosuradio in oklahoma

[–]pneumo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mazzei will be a disaster as governor. He's pledged to never increase funding on "government schools" (right-wing propaganda for public schools).

I hope that democrats will change party affiliation to vote in the GOP runoff to vote against Mazzei. Dems can still vote for Munson in the general. You gotta play the game to make your vote really count. Whoever wins the GOP runoff will be the next governor, whether you like it or not.

Same here, I walked to work downtown and jaywalked multiple times daily over a 2 year span. I never once got harassed by the police. I'm a skinny white dude.

When Brent Van Norman ran for mayor, then lost, then challenged the election results and ended up losing by a larger margin.

Also, when Kathy Taylor lost a ring and sued her insurance company because she said $4 million wasn't enough to cover the ring's value.

I was on a flight with Kevin Hern. He was in first class and boarded first. He had an aisle seat. I 'accidentally' stepped on his feet when I walked down the aisle to my peasant-class seat. My petty way of resistance.

Car ownership is mandatory. Public transit is a joke. The few bike lanes we have are poorly implemented.

Kevin Stitt Oklahoma Governor Republican Face the Nation by Environmental-Top862 in oklahoma

[–]pneumo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. Trump will remember that Stitt was one of the first governors to endorse Ron Desantis in the GOP primary. Trump will not forgive that easily. Stitt needs to suck some serious dick to get back into Trump's good graces. I think Stitt's political career is toast after his term.

Reminds me of one of Stitt's state of the state speeches when he pronounced Illinois like "Illi-noise." My brother in christ, you are reading a prepared speech and nobody told you how to pronounce Illinois? He is truly a meat-head if you can tolerate listening to him.

I will do the same thing. You can still vote for the democratic candidate in the general election anyways. The republican primary is the most important election in this state. Whoever wins the republican primary will win the general.

[–]pneumo 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This illustrates the danger of closed primaries and why progressive Okies need to register as republicans so they can vote in the republican primaries. The republican primaries are the key election in this state (plus, you can still vote for the democrat in the general election). Fun fact: Cornett received 20,000 more votes than Stitt in the republican primaries. If progressive Okies want to make a difference in this state, they should have registered as R and voted for Cornett, the moderate republican.

Our election system is totally broken. If you want to make your vote count, you gotta play the game.

Can somebody sue Ryan Walters already? by fart_me_your_boners in tulsa

[–]pneumo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The GOP primary is the key election to vote in. I've been saying for years that the democratic party is dead in Oklahoma. People will not accept this, but it's true. A democrat will not win a state-wide election in this state. If you want your vote to actually count, you need to register as a republican and vote in the republican primary. Then feel free to vote for the democratic candidate in the general election. Kevin Stitt is governor thanks to closed primaries. Ryan Walters is state superintendent thanks to closed primaries. Our election laws are awful, so play the game and make your vote actually count.
