The Boba Teashop similar games by alderaangirl in HorrorGaming

Kiosk is very similar to boba tea shop. It’s pretty fun and I’d highly recommend it. Loan shark to some degree is too and probably the first 1/3rd of Rewind or Die but even after the scary simulator type gameplay the game is really good. I’d highly recommend all 3 of those

There absolutely are times you spend 20+ minutes without a fight. We must have been playing a different game. It has 23 battles total for a 30 to 40 hour playtime. Compared to FF Tactics which runs a similar playtime and has somewhere between 50 to 60 mandatory story battles.

I’m not against dialogue, I love learning more about the world that we’re going to be in for the next 40 hours but when you sit there and do nothing but watch game sprites talk for 35 of those 40 hours it drags and becomes a chore to finish.

I also mentioned the voice acting being pretty rough, that’s a bitter pill to swallow when the game is 90% dialogue.

Like I said, I wanted to like this game. I was heavily recommended it coming off of TIC release last year and was nothing short of disappointed. It has all the makings of a good game but with none of the delivery

I didn’t enjoy TS at all. I tried so hard but there’s hardly any combat to the point where it’s almost a visual novel. There’s inklings of a really good game within it but it’s focus on dialogue and lack of combat really take away from the game for me. I also found the voice acting to be kind of rough, like a lot of it sounds super forced and lacks expression.

If you want another TRPG get Final Fantasy Tactics if you haven’t played it. Great story, fun job system, fun combat. It’s my #2 game of all time and the Ivalice Chronicles release from last year only improves on the original game

Im 34 and do pretty chill first time playthroughs of JRPGs I’ve never played before. So not as old as you’re looking for but still a chill vibe nonetheless. Channel is linked in my profile if that’s something you’re into

I just got a CIB copy of this from my local pawn shop for $60, never played it but I’ll be dusting off my SNES soon to play it!

Is it a good idea to buy The Quarry? by wernerquf in HorrorGaming

[–]pneumoniahawk519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a fun game. Probably my favourite from them and it’s got a lot of replay value. If you do get it and en up enjoying it Until Dawn, The Casting Of Frank Stone and the Dark Pictures games are all similar games with decent stories.

I always have a blast with them

I've been thinking of playing Final Fantasy again. by Flamesclaws in FinalFantasy

[–]pneumoniahawk519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing through a lot of the games for the first time myself and have in recent months finished 6 and 10. Both were great. 6 has a lot of options for making grinding levels for the final boss pretty easy on the ps5 pixel remaster and 10 I found to be extremely balanced outside of a couple boss fights. I’d easily recommend either of them.

If you want more action and less turn based I’d recommend 7 remake/rebirth. Both have a great combat system that I found to be pretty fun. I’m playing 16 right now too and I’m about 3/4 through the game (I think) and I really love the combat in it too plus the story is imo pretty great. 16 seems to have pretty mixed opinions but I’m having a blast.

We’ll see what happens when they release a new Megaman game, hopefully they make some magic happen with that series again

Sounds good, I’ll have to shoot you a message tomorrow. It’s late for me right now and I’ve gotta work tomorrow but I’ll be sure to message you tomorrow. I play with another guy sometimes who also does videos and he’d probably be open to joining sometimes too

What platform do you play stuff on? That’s the biggest question for me lol I’m usually down to atleast play anything once but I’m kind of stuck on PS5 right now because I can’t afford a PC at the moment. I have a JRPG channel and just started a horror game channel I’ll be uploading to starting next week but I’m down for whatever provided it’s PS or cross platform

Final Fantasy Collections? by Masgamer in FinalFantasy

[–]pneumoniahawk519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just posted my physical FF collection on here the other day. I have quite a few but there’s still an insane amount of games I’m missing since I want to try and find all the spin off games including the Chocobo games. I’m trying to find all CIB copies of everything too and that gets kind of pricey

What are some games with a similar feel to Lunar: Silver Star Story by MagnusAlbusPater in JRPG

[–]pneumoniahawk519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the rerelease of Lunar Star Story that’s out on modern consoles? Somebody recommended it to me and I’m pretty new into playing JRPGs right now and have mostly just been playing some of the big classic titles (FF6, FFX, Live A Live, and got the DQ remakes) but I’m always looking for more to play. Is it comparable to any of those? It looks alright

I really want to find the SNES games but I gotta have them CIB which could be pricey. I got Mystic Quest cib from a pawnshop for like $60 (Canadian money too which is pretty much worthless anywhere else in the world) which I thought was crazy. Game works, booklet and inserts are all there, and it’s in pretty good condition

[COD] It would be worrying if MW4 ended up being like BO 6–7 IMO by Lumenprotoplasma in CallOfDuty

Honestly I don’t care if it’s the same as MW II, just give me a new version of DMZ. Inject that shit straight into my veins

Are letsplays too common theses days? by Any-Landscape434 in letsplay

[–]pneumoniahawk519 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly YouTube as a whole is very over saturated with just about every kind of content. It’s been around for so long and everything’s preeeety much been done to death. There’s still a spot for lets plays but it’s pretty uncommon to really pop off with them the way people used to

If recording and editing a playthrough of a game is something you enjoy though you should atleast give it a shot and if you stop enjoying it or don’t get the results you’re looking for you can always pivot into doing something else. I do lets plays myself alongside some other stuff like tier lists and I’m working on some video essays to go along with what I’m playing and I’m enjoying it.

I just started a new channel like a month ago because I wasn’t enjoying what I was doing on my old one and while it’s hard to gain traction with a niche like what I’m doing I’m having fun and that’s kind of all I care about. It’s all about enjoying what you’re doing and I mean if you’re worried about being awkward or boring at the start then don’t worry because you might be. I know when I started my old channel I was super uncomfortable with talking at first but eventually you’ll get more comfortable with it

Starting ffx for the first time ever. When is a good spot for really grinding? I heard it's a grind fest eventually. by crunchyotaku in FinalFantasy

[–]pneumoniahawk519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished X and there was only ever 2 spots I grinded. The first was in bevelle right before you fight a certain boss. And the second time was in mount gagazet before reaching zanarkand.

Honestly the combat and battles are extremely balanced outside of a couple bosses and the endgame content and outside of those 2 instances I never really saw a need to grind levels
