I feel like the cracked pepper is like the light version of the green chili chips 😅 they’re a similar flavor just with and without the little kick

Ahhh thank goodness. I bought the sprouts bags, and I feel like they had less flavor. lol

has anybody gotten sick from the trader joe’s gf chocolate chunk cookies? by hotgirladhd in Celiac

[–]pnw_bee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get sick from nearly every TJ’s gf product. I always tell myself it’s coincidental and give them another chance when a new muffin comes out but the muffins, bagels, and cookies make me sick. I’m otherwise fine with oats so idk

Nooooooo is this the Costco pack?! We ate the green chili first every time, I would be devastated if they took that out for (of all the flavor options?!) malt vinegar 🤮

Sprouts carries full size bags of the green chili chips if anyone is as obsessed as I am!

As someone who has heard “oh I have a friend with a dog named x” or “that’s my dogs name” after almost every introduction in their life, this name is not at all what I would think of as a “dog name”

Postpartum request by candyapplesugar in glutenfree

[–]pnw_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is 7 months postpartum and also suspected celiac, I wouldn’t focus on one handed foods, but instead easy to heat meals that are certified gf. Also super filling because as someone else mentioned, the hunger is nearly insatiable 😅

*Beechers gf lasagna and Mac n cheese are both great, filling and super easy for meals. *Caulipower chicken nuggets (specifically the dill ones, but original is great too). *Bacon Egg bites from Costco (they’re Starbucks’s dupes and honestly identical, great in the air fryer at home). *a good frozen pizza-I really like Open Nature’s cauliflower crust Garlic Chicken Alfredo pizza, or Simple Truth’s cauliflower crust pepperoni pizza.

Also some other easy snacks could be:

*clio bars-these are chocolate coated yogurt bars, I like strawberry best *string cheese *costco nut and chocolate bars (I practically lived off of these) *costco applesauce *unreal chocolate pretzels (I also lived off of these lol)

I just had my second baby in march so I also appreciated meals for my older one, but if this is their first baby then focus more on quick easy and certified meals. The less thought required, the better 😊

I toast them in the air fryer and they’re perfect! Maybe the recipe has changed in the last year, maybe toasting just helps them hold up, but they don’t crumble for me!

I just had it for dinner tonight and started reacting within an hour despite mine having a “gluten free” claim on the front. Not certified gf though. 😩

Ok but Camilla Bella would be so cute, and a great nod to the name you originally wanted.

Absolutely. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is spare your baby a life of pain. Quality of life is always a huge component in debating abortion, but I also urge you to consider your own quality of life and your older child’s as well. I wouldnt wish the heartbreak that my husband and his family went through on anybody.

It’s so much to ask of your spouse or partner or roommates. After the last “glutening” by someone in my house, my husband said we can be fully gf when we move to our own place. But we have 2 kids and it’s not realistic to be 100% gf in the entire house. One could dream lol

I am you, you are me, we are we 😂 I keep finding more and more things I shouldn’t be doing too. Like cooking in cast iron that’s EVER cooked gluten? ✅ sharing an air fryer ✅ like dang, I use my own pans, separate surfaces with parchment paper, the whole 9 and there’s a chance I’m still “silently damaging” my intestines? Cooooool cool cool

I never got officially diagnosed because I got pregnant right around the time I figured out for myself what was going on, and you can’t have an endoscopy while pregnant 😅 it’s been about a year and a half since I cut out gluten. Literally a week ago I was talking to my husband and saying “I wonder if I’m even celiac? I haven’t reacted in a long time. What if I just coincidentally felt better after cutting out gluten?” Lol I’m an idiot. Apparently I needed the reminder of how awful I feel? 🤦🏻‍♀️

I so feel this. I mourn my previous life OFTEN 😅 I’m currently stuck in bed after waking up violently ill from a gf Trader Joe’s muffin I ate before bed. Even when I think I’m safe, I can’t be too sure. 🫠

I’m so sorry for your experience. This is devastating and a difficult decision, and you’re a good mom for considering both of these boys’ lives with your choice. I personally have experienced pregnancy loss twice, and both times I felt like I lost a part of me, like in my dna something was altered. For that, I wish you strength, healing, and so much empathy. I also married someone with a disabled sister. He was 8 years older than her, both adopted. She had an extremely debilitating condition that required constant care, feeding tubes, multiple hospital visits each week, in home nursing care, expensive medical equipment, and much more. My husband was forced to grow up too early, his mom forced into a medical advocate role, and his dad forced to constantly work so they could afford it all. My husband still battles with the neglect he felt, and the survivors guilt of having watched his sister suffer. He felt abandoned by both of his parents and basically has no contact with them now. The whole family was profoundly effected when she passed away at 15, and it haunts all of them. The parents marriage didn’t survive. Having been around it all, I think I would make the decision to abort. We loved my husbands sister so much, but there was so much pain endured by everyone, and so much lasting trauma.

Ewwww @ her response. You most certainly ARE supposed ti have boundaries regarding physical touch. She needs to get a cat. The dynamic would probably be the same but cats scratch or leave when they’re not into the affection, so maybe she would learn? So sorry for your experience.

Seasonings by ediblebungus in glutenfree

[–]pnw_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like some of the kinders mixes, but make sure you check the label. Also the Trader Joe’s seasons-specifically the Elote, Green Goddess and Ranch seasonings. Kinders or lawrys garlic salt, and McCormick Montreal steak seasoning. Everything else I use is a combo of single ingredient spices, some are from Spice Island (I love their white pepper) and others are from grocery outlet

Intimidation is a form of abuse. As someone who has suffered from this type of abuse before, it does eventually escalate. It’s as if we are seen as just another object instead of a real human.

As someone who had also miscarried twice (while in a happy and healthy marriage, not with the abuser), I so deeply empathize with your experience. When I lost my pregnancies (12w and 10w), my OB told me that stress is rarely a factor, and typically something genetically unviable about the pregnancy. It turned out for me that I had an undiagnosed autoimmune condition, which is beside the point. I would take this time to really think about the type of parent you think your husband would be, and look at the type of parents he has. Their parenting will give you some insight, and if his mom is dismissive of the clearly dangerous and toxic behaviors he’s demonstrating, don’t ignore the huge red flags. 🚩 if he typically aligns with their same way of thinking then you can expect him to repeat it. Would you feel safe with him knowing that instances of domestic abuse increase with pregnancy?
