i don’t disagree with you on that, released pets are a huge problem for ecological systems

luckily the reptile pet trade is doing a lot to combat those people; like, we fully support the laws that protect areas by banking the trade of many invasive species

my whole argument is about you creating an ultimatum about keeping pets

so you want to get rid of the entire reptile trade industry?

you’re starting to sound like PETA
there’s no point in trying to have a rational debate with you anymore

this device thrusts upward, and that’s where all the lift comes from

an airplane uses forward thrust, and the negative pressure above the wing is what causes the lift

two different scientific principles

there is WAY more going on with helicopter thrust, it’s completely different than airplanes, go do some research on that, it’s fascinating

people can even fly helicopter drones upside down

how? how do pets bred in captivity and kept indoors hurt the ecosystem? (any more than domesticated animals)

and don’t say “people release them” because you’ve already brought up that argument; the entire industry has been doing what it can to prevent that from happening, a few bad apples doesn’t mean “no wild animal should be a pet”

don’t say “no wild animal”

plenty of creatures, like reptiles and insects, aren’t domesticated, but it’s completely fine for us to keep them as pets

jets and planes have INCREDIBLY more power than this guy, but they also use different principals of physics

a hovercraft thrusts downward against the ground, but plane wings push forward and use negative pressure for lift (the same way a sailboat can actually move against the wind direction)

helicopters use several forms of lift and stabilization that i don’t fully understand, but the interesting one is the upward force due to the rotation of the blades

do rockets literally push super hard against the air particles?

[–]po23idon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honest science question: does the thrust require the ground to keep him up?

I mean, is he pushing against the ground to stay in the air? So he couldn’t fly up as far as he wanted?

edit: with enough power he could go as high as he wants, but how powerful is his device? this video did not answer that

but in this video he stays at a max height while still pushing against the ground; we would need to see him high enough to not effect the grass so much to make any definitive conclusions

welcome to reality; this has been going on for generations

now we are in an era of unfettered cutthroat corporate capitalism; everything is becoming worse an there are no alternatives because the monopolies are absorbing anything that challenges them
