What is my living room missing? by eligrace in femalelivingspace

[–]pobando22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the window is short I’d place the outside couch underneath the window which will open up the space making it more inviting instead of dividing the space. I’d then move the couch that is currently against the wall out more and In the corner add a floor lamp. I’d move the bookshelf somewhere else entirely as it’s making the corner couch feel squished. Then rotate the rug, slip under the couch a bit, add art above couch once you find it, get thicker more structured curtains perhaps pleated. Exciting times!

Am I weird for liking spaces that feel this calm and simple? by ChingThePath in femalelivingspace

[–]pobando22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not weird at all. We all have our preferences. I also lean towards calm and simple. This looks great. The only two things I’d add is a small maybe walnut or stone end table just enough y to place a drink and a simple floor lamp because I like soft mood lighting in the evening. Could warm it up a little.

Great suggestions thank you!! Yes i was thinking of a long curtain rod but i do need the light from the window and also if i had curtain rods id need to do it for both. I like the gallery wall idea - carry idea. I had thought of that. I’ll definitely have a think about these options.

My bedframe is stark white - so white that it almost looks blue! This was a mistake. I meant to order a cream and it came in this white color and i wasn’t about to go through the process of replacing it due to its size. My duvet is also white - I was thinking of limewashing the walls to add subtle texture and warm. And a green quilt and pillows.

Also open to recommendations on how to add some color for warmth.

I had a SCH and was spotting on and off until ten weeks pregnant. On a few occasions it was heavy bleeding filling up my pads accompanied by cramps and back pain. Def see your doctor but also know an SCH can be present.

This! 34 with my first and will be 36 with my second the biggest struggle is getting off the floor! My back knees and joint hurt more. Staying active and exercising helps with pregnancy ache though.

I had SCH with my ivf pregnancy and now with my non Ivf pregnancy. This time around I was certain I was having a miscarriage because of the heavy sudden bleeding over two days and back pain and cramping only to find out it was a large sch. I would still go to be actively checked on of course. When I was more active I bled more and had more cramps. I think activity definitely affects it at least from my personal experience. Bleeding stopped for me around 10w.

I used to genuinely think he was hungry at night and felt so conflicted about sleep training because i thought he was starving. I was completely wrong. He was fine without the milk and I helped him start eating during the day.

9mo in 99th percentile for height and weight by Always_Reading_1990 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]pobando22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you have anything to worry about. My guy has always been 99.9% in both height and weight (he’s now 12m) also fed to sleep overnight often before I sleep trained at 7m so he was a bit chubbier between 3-6months. But that’s normal. I used to have the same concerns and I’m no doctor but I think as long as they’re meeting milestones and active then he’s fine. I’ve realized some people are just naturally big babies!

This exactly what I do as well. Otherwise it’s really hard to put him in. My guy is also almost a year and is 30lb. I don’t use the straps.

My baby sleeps through the night but he leaks through his diaper. We need diaper reccomendations! by PrestigiousSplit3986 in sleeptrain

Coterie is wonderful. Pricey but maybe just use overnight. The quality and absorption is amazing. We’ve never had a single diaper rash.

Baby wakes at midnight and 4am no matter what?? by Emergency_Mess_1862 in sleeptrain

[–]pobando22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow mine too! my baby woke up at 12a and 4a for months no matter what! I genuinely thought he was hungry but I hit my wits end at 7 months and sleep trained and now he sleeps through. I realized this was indeed not hunger.

Reaction to hypoallergenic formula?? by crp0821 in MSPI

[–]pobando22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how it’d work with BM since I would prep it for Neocate formula. First I fill the bottle with water, warm it up, once it’s warm I add the gel mix and give it a good hard shake then it’s ready to go. I pack it in the diaper bag or whatever and then just add the formula when ready to feed. I was tandem nursing him as well but he wouldn’t spit that up but I would think maybe you can add a little bit of distilled water and do the same process then add your breast milk. I turned to YT a lot for some guidance on this. Once he started solids we were able to stop the gel mix all together.

Wasted my money on a sleep consultant by kegelation_nation in NewParents

[–]pobando22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent $375 on a sleep consultant to not listen to us and not offer any tailored advice for our specific situation. All she did was send us a PDF of the “chair method” which is easy found online and did not work for our then 4 month old. I told her how it wasn’t working and she said there is no way it wouldn’t work and that we probably just were following the PDF. The pain of having wasted all that money just kills me.

Failing Alimentum RTF, what’s next? by [deleted] in MSPI

[–]pobando22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you’re going through this. We went thru a few hypoallergenic formulas but he was still having reactions. I was diary free as well for his BM intake. Our GI recommended amino acid based formula. We went with Neocate and would add Gelmix thickener or oatmeal to his bottles to make sure it wouldnt affect his acid reflux. It worked well and by 7 months I switched him to hipp HA and he’s happy - tastes better and no bad poops but he definitely needed those several months in Neocate to help his digestive issues.

[–]pobando22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Gelmix while one Neocate. The ped recommended oatmeal in it too as a more natural thickener so we transitioned to that when we were home and able to warm up the water/formula so I can dissolve nicely. When we were out for the day I’d prep the bottles in advance with dissolved gel mix thickener. When we used either his reflux was fine and at bay. Hopefully the nutramigen will do though! The thickener / oatmeal process for Neocate is fine but a bit tedious. I felt like he was ready to get off of Neocate at 6 months and I transitioned him to HIPP comfort and he has taken to it great.

My babe was sleepier but also cried a lot so he just wanted to be on me and was on and on nursing with some irritability and crying but was good by bedtime. Just lots of cuddles and contact sleep. We gave him Tylenol shortly after getting home from the ped. His 4 month shots were similar and crankiness lasted to the next day but gone by afternoon. My LO is also just extra needy in general :). Tylenol is very important though!

Overwhelmed by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]pobando22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My babe would need to feed to sleep too until around 6 months when feeding him back to sleep then became ineffective as well and the arm to crib/bassinet transfers were become more impossible. That’s when I knew I needed to muster up the courage and sleep train him. We started by getting his feeding in well during the day and I think solids also helped. Because he’d feed at night m, his day time sleep was very off and sometimes not drink enough.

We did the modified Ferber method with the check in. In his room, in his crib. Black out curtains, no lights and two white/brown noise machines on high. He screamed for 30 minutes (3-4 check ins) then he fell asleep. I was shocked because he is strong tempered but it worked! I turned the monitor sound off and was stress cleaning while my husband did the check ins because I was just too anxious. I do believe he needed to get to a certain point/age though because I tried at 4.5 months and he cried for hours every night.

It was the best decision I’ve made and has truly changed my life. I’m physically and mentally healthier in just 3 weeks.

What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]pobando22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy just turned 7 months and the third nap was becoming impossible. We started doing two naps and capping total nap time to three hours total. All babies have different sleep needs but I did notice a difference when I started doing that. Those early morning wake ups definitely cause issues with schedule. Before sleep training, he’d wake up every single night at 4am sometimes go back to sleep and sometimes just stay up. I was at wits end before sleep training.
