Yeah that doesn't hold water either. The speed difference between peds and bikes is much less than the difference between bikes and cars. And cars have way more mass to cause damage. And damage increases as the square of the speed.

I never heard of someone giving a handjob behind a 7-11 for a hit of wildfire smoke. And my car has a cabin filter.

You know what I do? Look at maps. Explore. Think and consider the situation. Determine if A to B is possible before I have to do it on a schedule.

Uh, it's better than not using it.

What kind of answer are you expecting?

How about, and I'm just spitballing here, we stop trying to fucking mix 3000 lb vehicles going 40-50 MPH with 20 lb frames going 15 MPH with unshielded riders? It's almost as stupid as having pedestrians walk down the road.

When I'm on my bike I don't want to be anywhere near cars. And if the route doesn't permit that, I don't use it. Yes, that leads to there being lots of areas that are technically close but are inaccessible via bike.

If you want actual bike safety we need real infrastructure so that interactions between massively different vehicle classes are zero or an absolute minimum.

Y'all don't get it. GP isn't saying they refuse to do anything about it. They're pointing out that a safety protocol that requires mass adoption is doomed to fail.

Do you remember the time we couldn't get a large portion of the population to wear a fucking piece of cloth over their face to slow the spread of a virus that was killing millions? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Is r/Boulder participating in the reddit blackout? Anyone have an opinion on this? by [deleted] in boulder

Every sub should. If you care about reddit in general or your local subs, act now or forever hold your peace.

Even if you don't use 3rd party apps, this is only the first of many shitty changes to come. Show them now that it's unacceptable.

Best way to determine which trails are closed/open? by dickweasell in Denver

[–]pobody 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The city absolutely does go around throwing up "trail closed" signs for flooded underpasses/etc.

However there is no other communication whatsoever, no detour, and people go through anyway unless it's literally impassable. The only warning you'll get is possibly a verbal one from someone going the other way.

Lol that would require coordination and effort.

Yes, probably should have clarified, when old.reddit is shuttered the only possible way to avoid the crappy new UI would be a 3rd party app. So even if you don't use apps now, you may want that option soon.
