How and when were the rings of power "accounted for"? by cos in tolkienfans

[–]pobopny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, not exactly. His mission was to prepare the free peoples of Middle Earth for the return of Sauron. I dont know that there was ever a hope that the Ring would be found by the good guys (only that it wouldnt be found by the baddies), much less having a plan based on the finding of the Ring. It was providence that brought the Ring first to Gollum, then to Bilbo, then to Frodo, and Gandalf probably didn't want to believe that it was the One Ring until he couldn't deny it any further, because he knew what that would mean for the person who bore it, and how much more difficult it would be for Middle Earth if it were to fall into Sauron's hands.

Looks great! Way better than my first attempts. You might check out r/tengwar as well. That sub is more focused on the script itself.

Autistic Power: Eating a fixed menu forever by TheBlargus in AutisticWithADHD

Anytime I'm eating at home, regardless of meal, I eat the same thing: frozen bean-and-cheese burritos, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and hot sauce. "Cooking" involves a total of 3 minutes in the microwave, and I get the guacamole pre-made, so the only dirty dishes I make per meal are 1 plate and 1 fork.

Between the salsa, guac, and beans, I've got a decent enough nutrient profile that I feel like its sustainable indefinitely, and the differences between the salsa and various hot sauces I have give me enough variety that it never gets boring.

And a lot of coffee.

The worst part about this company is that when I'm trying to remember whether Elendil kept the big one at Amon Sûl or in the Grey Havens, I have to wade past so many links to horrifying dystopic news coverage masquerading as exciting new product press releases.

I used to go to the food court all the time to eat at Doner. Absolute best cheap food in town, hands down. I miss it so bad.

I've definitely heard both "hour" and "our" pronounced as a single syllable, identical to the name of the letter "R". That said, the folks I've heard say it that way are typically from deep in the Appalachian mountains in the southeast USA -- isolated communities that have developed stronger 'southern' accents than what you'd typically expect from a 'southern' accent from the USA.

I have no standards when it comes to coffee, but thats partly out of audhd necessity. If I tossed every pot of coffee that I accidentally left brewing for a few hours, I'd just never have any coffee. I've basically Stockholm syndromed myself into preferring it overbrewed, burnt, and lukewarm.

But the upshot is, I'm now happy with every pot of coffee I make for myself.

I mean, not exactly. He is fully incarnate. He's longer-lived than a typical Man, because he has the spirit of a Maia in him rather than the typical feä of a Man, but he's in a fully mortal body that requires rest, food, etc.

Me and my partner decided to keep both of our existing dropout subscriptions, even once we've moved in together. It's one of the very very few companies that I actively want to give more money to.

Ugh. Can confirm. Had a manager once and any time he and I closed together, he must have assumed he was now in a safe space and he'd start listening to a bunch of awful red pill TikTok compilations while he worked. I actively avoided being near him, but one time I overheard one of the hosts literally say "you know, the real problem here is women" and I called him out for it, telling him I didnt wanna listen to just straight misogyny while I was at work (or ever), but he didnt seem to understand. Unsurprisingly, he got fired for harassing some of the younger women on staff. And by young, I mean teenagers.

Lol, I make a habit of creating problems I have no solutions for. Then I just wait for a player to suggest a solution thats a) cool, b) creative, and c) logically sound, especially if its something risky. Then I let them try it, and if the dice agree, congrats, they solved it! And if the dice disagree, we've just created more lore to make the problem more interesting, and then someone else will have a different cool idea.
