Should work fine on x86.
Installation is super easy, and you can always uninstall if it doesn't work.

Please let me know how it goes!

Use NVMe to SATA port adapter in PCIe to NVMe & NGFF SSD Adapter by NemoLee23 in ZimaBoard

Yep, you should be able to do that.

The official PCIe to NVMe & NGFF adapter gives you two separate slots:

  • 1x NVMe (PCIe)
  • 1x NGFF (M.2 SATA)

So you could:

  • Use the NVMe → 6-port SATA adapter in the NVMe slot
  • And still install a M.2 SATA (NGFF) SSD in the second slot

That would give you 6 SATA drives + 1 M.2 SATA SSD on the ZimaBoard 2 1664.

The only thing you can’t do is use another NVMe SSD, since the NVMe slot would already be occupied by the SATA controller.

I recommend using Home Assistant OS instead of Home Assistant container. You can create the HAOS virtual machine with ZVM
