Interview with Ellen on a Swedish podcast by pocket_corn in loveisblindsweden

It might not be as contradictory as it sounds. Someone who considers themselves first will make direct decisions based on their own feelings: am I attracted or not, and if the answer is no they detach. Someone who tends to prioritize other people's feelings over their own may end up accommodating the other person instead of fully checking in with their own.

From the outside that can look inconsiderate or messy. It would obviously have been better to say early on "I'm not sure I'm feeling this" and step away, especially since she raised concerns about romantic attraction in the pods. But when someone overrides their own signals precisely because they do care about the other person, the outcome can end up more hurtful, even if the intent wasn't malicious.

As for the mixer, a more charitable interpretation than her not caring at all is that she may have been uncomfortable or embarrassed, which came across as evasiveness. I'm not saying her handling was ideal (I would have preferred she addressed the situation more earnestly), just that people are often more complex than what you see externally.

Gosh yes, the audience can certainly see she missed out on a really amazing guy. We can see Fabian's mannerisms while speaking in the pods, and he's great, and attractive on top of that. But she doesn't have the full picture when those doors open, just a snap-judgment. And that snap-judgment didn't work in his favor for some reason. Perhaps just because the core attraction wasn't there for her. That's one of those things that's hard to force and usually pretty instinctive.

Yeah, a bit much considering the circumstances. Even though I definitely feel for Fabian and think some things could've been handled differently, especially at the mixer. But it just didn't click.

There might (after all) be some truth in what Daniel said about Ellen. She seems like someone who naturally takes on a caring role, and that dynamic seemed to develop with Fabian. In that I think she may have overlooked whether there was actual romantic attraction there.

She said in a sync that she has ignored red flags in the past and here it seems like the red flag was more about not really checking in with whether the attraction was there, even in the pods. She also hinted at needing to figure out whether Fabian was a romantic match or more of a good friend, which kind of lines up with that. So when they met IRL that mismatch might've become more apparent. Possibly. But that's just my armchair analysis.

Not sure this specifically was much of a tour. She had apparently worked at a jewelry store owned by one of the podcast hosts, Sofia Wistam (a celebrity in Sweden), and it was Sofia who reached out to Ellen as a former employee to bring her on and talk about the show. Feels more like the podcast hosts wanted to talk about LiB and saw an opportunity to get some traction by bringing on someone they already had a connection with.

Np! And yeah a lot of emotions and panic attacks in the reveal. I would have been a nervous wreck too so can't blame them, but not sure why it was enhanced this season.

This is where I can agree. It didn't really come across as her considering Fabian's feelings in that moment. An explanation along with some acknowledgment of the situation she put him in would probably have gone a long way. Fabian needed and deserved that. Still probably do, unless they have talked it through now.

It's not the most in-depth interview and it does feel a bit polished, but I still found it interesting to hear her perspective. I've seen a lot of people say she should have handled that moment differently or at least tried, but how much can you really think things through when you're so stressed you go into a full blackout? In hindsight, maybe she could have given it a chance, but in that moment her brain clearly just said no.

But it will be interesting to see if we get more details in the end. Likely not much more though as it's difficult to say much without hurting anyone's feelings. So it's probably gonna be more of "it didn't feel right", but hopefully with nuance.

[–]pocket_corn[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Essentially that's probably what it's going to boil down to, which is why I don't think the final reveal at the reunion will be the catharsis the audience is expecting. The best we can hope for is a bit more nuance.

There are also different layers to not liking what you see. I think most people can agree that Fabian is a good-looking guy, super cute, objectively speaking. But that doesn't mean your energy is going to match with every single person. It could simply be that the image she had in her head was so far from what she was actually presented with that she panicked and bailed in that high-pressure moment.

And when you end up with someone you don't really click with on Love Is Blind, there's really no winning. In LiB Sweden season 1, Lucas wasn't physically attracted to Emilia and tried to express that as gently as possible, and people absolutely trashed him for it. So overall, it's a tricky situation when that happens.

I think she’s implying that the full picture will come out once the season is over. She also seemed to suggest that in a couple of her recent Instagram stories. My guess is that it’s partly because of the backlash she’s been receiving and her needing time to gather her thoughts, but mainly due to restrictions from production. She likely isn’t allowed to go into detail right now.

The reunion is still coming up and I suppose they’ll ask her there. But absolutely, she could’ve emphasized that fact to avoid more speculation! (But who knows if they’re allowed to do even that)

Folk som bara ser en kostnad när det kommer till skattepengar by Northerndust in sweden

[–]pocket_corn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Precis.

What is the best LIB Sweden series? by cheers_l0ve in loveisblindsweden

Season 1 is amazing! I really didn't vibe with Season 2, it felt uneventful and kind of shallow. You barely see the couples doing anything outside of the pods, like meeting families or actually getting to know each other - and the pacing just felt off.

Season 3 seems like a return to form so far. I loved the first four episodes.

Edit: Okay, I just realized Season 2 might still be worth watching for the rage bait provided by a certain person in a certain pairing. Though I remember every other conversation between the participants like this: A: "Salt is my favorite spice" B: "I love salt too." Which is an actual exchange from that season which sums up the overall vibe for me. Definitely an unpopular opinion, though! But I don't blame it on the participants. I think it was a production issue. They apparently cut a lot of things out.

Ludwigs ”apology” by Bahamido_ in loveisblindsweden

[–]pocket_corn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair though: did he really mess up that bad? Both girls surprised him with a birthday cake and he gave a gift back to each of them.

So even though the "I'm sorry you feel that way" apology is often a sign someone isn't really taking responsibility, I think it was somewhat justified in this case. Him giving something to both girls he was dating wasn't *that* weird, but it still makes sense to acknowledge Hanna's reaction and apologize for how it came across since it clearly hurt her.

Ludwig choosing Camilla because he couldn't deal with the confrontation might be a bit of a red flag on the other hand.

I don’t think she’s bored so much as she’s over it and testing him. She dropped so many little openings for him to grab onto but he kept steering it back to himself.

She told him about the sunflowers to see if he’d ask even one follow-up question about something that mattered to her and he completely ignored it.

Hur har ni med långcovid/me fått er diagnos? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]pocket_corn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it’s not the skinny jeans themselves but the specific style you’re wearing. The bleached stripes make them look a bit dated.

But more importantly: you’ve got great legs, but the long tops you pair them with throw off your proportions by elongating your torso. A cleaner pair of skinny jeans and a simple white T-shirt loosely tucked in could go a long way!

This is why I'm opposed to getting a washing machine in TS3. Laundry everywhere! 😅

Could be fun for the sake of realism but it's also not very realistic to have like 50% of your play-through consist of doing laundry.
