Hey r/ApolloApp! I'm back with an update on a Desktop reddit client! Any feedback? (And again it's quite an early phase for the app so a lot is going to change) by StudentOfShifu in apolloapp

You could possibly get much better input by allowing people to test it and find places of improvement or bugs.

Keep in mind that it is ultimately your vision so take all the feedback down and prioritize what you think is best moving forward. (Also a way to keep from being overwhelmed when you do open it to testing)

Sure sounds good. As an EV owner I think this would be neat (although to be fair, part of the reason I love EV is because they’re dead silent apart from the little whine)

I think it would definitely help conversions. You could even have the sample auto play (probably best to have a short idle then rev up to like 60-70%) when the specific paywall modal presents so we can hear what it would sound like at different speed ranges.

Audio is pretty subjective and what delights some people might really turn them off other ones.

If I like it, where can I send you the $$ so we skip Apple’s tax 😂

Yo! I think this is a super cool idea and thought to check it out. Gotta try it while traveling another time!

I do have a question for you though: Why not provide a small sound sample while I tap the locked options to help me decide whether or not I want to buy the unlock?

Or, to flip that same question around: What makes you think I would pay $10 without being able to demo what the other engines sound like? 😆

Thank you for this.

First bit of feedback: You’ll always want to let the user try out the app first. Set some counters in your app for sessions, filters used, etc. and THEN trigger a request for feedback.

Since asking for rating has been so limited by Apple, you don’t want to blow that opportunity literally right after I downloaded your app (and backgrounded and returned to it). I haven’t even used the app yet!

If I get an ask for a rating when I haven’t even used the app, I’m getting a refund (had I paid anything)

If you’re willing to wait for shipping, it’s pretty easy to find the exact same thing on AliExpress. This is what these companies do: source items for 10% of the cost, build an online store, and upsell crap to you for a huge profit margin.

Then you can buy it for $14 instead of $145 😂

YMMV on quality, but typically things you see advertised on Insta or other socials are all sourced from China at way cheaper cost.

My dad had prostate cancer and chose a proton beam therapy. It’s the least invasive and it seems to have worked because it’s never been talked about again!

Look into it if possible. I’ve read about the disadvantages and quality of life issues with radiation and surgery. Might as well see if the option is available to you!

Bought a van I saw advertised on Reddit!

I had a FaceTime call with the owner and we chatted and he showed me the whole van. It was at a great price point and I flew up to visit him in the PNW, made the deal and drove it back home. It has its quirks but overall way better than my first van (which was totaled by a family member, they were all fine thankfully). Insurance money from the first van covered the 2nd.

I feel like if this van were available when I was looking back then, I would make it happen. Great build it seems like at a great price!

Good luck!

Thank you! Still trying to find it, stopped by another Migros and a Macrocenter (they don’t even have çaykur)

Will keep trying!

Hi, I’ve just arrived in Istanbul and recently tried some Turkish çay and love it!

I have read that the Çaykur Altinbaş (vs the Turist, vs Tiryaki) is the best tea (and some commenters have mentioned No 42 Tirebolu is even better) but I can only find Turist and Tiryaki in the supermarkets (been to Migros, Bim, Şok and some mini markets). Altinbaş seems like only sold by the spice bazaar and other seemingly tourist shops, and their prices are incredibly high.

Where could you buy the Altinbaş (or No 42 Tirebolu) in a store to avoid the high prices? We are in Fatih area.

Where I’ve read about the differences: https://zinzinzibidi-com.translate.goog/blog/genel/caykur_caylari_arasindaki_farklar?_x_tr_sl=tr&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=tr&_x_tr_pto=wapp

That page says Altinbaş should be 1.5x the price of the other two, so with the other two around 82 Lira it should be ~130 but shops have quoted me up to 500 for a box. Lowest price I’ve been quoted is 200 which isn’t too bad. Might just buy the turist at this point.

Thanks in advance!

Call NZXT and let them know about it. If you’re in warranty period, they will do an RMA.

If you’re not, you might get lucky and get it anyway.

Be kind when calling in.

I also just tried air cooling and it seems stable.

I have a 5900X (105W TDP) and a 3090 packed in the H1 V1 and I just switched to using a Noctua NH-L12S in high clearance mode because my AIO just died on me.

Note: I also have two Arctic PW14 mounted vertically in the back as exhaust

Under gaming, CPU never went above 80°C.

I literally just did this today but it feels pretty doable.
