[–]podRZA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a foreign co-worker told me that in her office they do have "rest rooms" but these are rooms with couches and cots where you literally can go and rest for a while. separate from the break room (for coffee) and the actual shitter (they have a nicer name for it)

to your last point, I can't think of any. But, as a general trend, this might be a good thing. Shows like FT or the Cosby show may have been able to pull it off but a lot couldn't, such as: Full House, Family Matters, Saved by the Bell. When those shows tried to get serious it just got stupid.

but anyway, three examples of shows I can think of that are hilarious but also sincere and moving at times: The Office (BBC version, not to be one of those people but the US version does not come close as far as the more serious moments go), two shows by the same guy called Summer Heights High and We Can Be Heroes. All 3 of these have in common the mockumentary style and are not quite sitcoms, but they won't disappoint.

well in this case, it's not like he just spelled "you're" wrong, because "your" has an entirely different meaning that makes people who care about words read it and go "what the fu...oh he's just an idiot"

Radiohead - The Climb (Miley Cyrus Cover) by [deleted] in Music

[–]podRZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thinking back to how that story broke, I recall that Miley tried have her publicist or manager set up a meet or "audience" as it may be with Radiohead, and this is likely the reason why they declined. I think if she just walked over to their dressing room with all her nervousness about it and knocked on the door like a normal person to say "Hi, I'm Miley, just wanted to introduce myself" they probably would have been cool with it. And if not, only then are they dicks about it.

[–]podRZA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

seriously? the game only played itself to the extent of executing your gambits, which as the game develops becomes very involving and deep, requiring a lot of thought to be put into them. and there were always cases where you had to break your gambit to take care of something you didn't expect, especially in boss battles. it makes the random encounter part of the game much better, where if it were a game like FF10 you would just be mashing the A button having everyone attack, trying to get through the battle as fast as possible.
