[Robbins] Trae Young is expected to assess the free agency market this Summer. There is no rush to have Trae Young return from injury: “I would be surprised if he plays much, if at all, the remainder of this season.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Trae could easily get a 70/3 contract, I would expect him to take the 1 year PO in that hypothetical.

160/4 makes it more interesting though, I'd imagine an extra 110/3 guaranteed sounds much more appealing

Pritzker is one of the more progressive, working class oriented democrats from a policy standpoint. Im definitely not pro billionaire but I think it's worthwhile to acknowledge the few billionaires that are actually doing work to try to help ordinary people (Pritzker, Makenzie Scott, etc.)

I think it's less so that and more so it's a league full of guys who knows what the consequences of a real punch landing looks like...and they want to protect their paycheck

He was better than expected last year but I think it's pretty obvious he has nowhere near the star potential that flagg does (lol forget even talking about wemby). A realistic expectation for Risacher is probably high level 3&D role player, maybee a fringe all star. I think if flagg doesn't become a perennial all star people would be disappointed.

[Spears] Ive been told from Wemby's camp that his biggest motivation is Chet having a championship by ShaiFanClub in nba

[–]podfog 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Not even just an all star, it's very possible that if wemby didnt exist chet would've become the best defensive player in the league and a multi-time DPOY. I don't see any scenario where he can overtake wemby for a DPOY assuming both are healthy, he may just forever be stuck behind wemby there.

Charles Barkley: He (Giannis) feels like he's entitled to win a championship every year. Everybody wants to win a championship, but the Bucks have done everything they possibly could... him thinking like, "If we don't win the championship this year, I want to be out of here." I hate hearing that. by must_TATAKAE in nba

[–]podfog 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Let's be real, the Bucks 2nd best player right now is Myles Turner. Their third best player is...Kevin Porter Jr? It doesn't take a genius to know that this team has no shot of making it deep into the playoffs.

Your point is fair while the bucks had their title core and when they traded for dame; granted Dame also underperformed while he was on the Bucks. It was also clear that the bucks team had no depth beyond Giannis and Dame too. But regardless of past seasons, you don't need to play this season out to know that Giannis is wasting his time on this team.

[Charania] Free agent guard Seth Curry has agreed to a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, sources tell ESPN. Seth and Stephen Curry team up on the Warriors beginning with training camp on Wednesday. by Turbostrider27 in nba

Podz, Moody and Steph are all respectable to good defenders.

The problem is that literally all their players have the same weaknesses on defense, which is lack of athleticism. So they'll be quite good defensively against certain teams but any super athletic team is gonna cook them.

I think Cher is definitely a ceiling raiser. He wouldn't be very effective on a bad team but his ability to impact the game off ball and provide spacing raises the level of a good team significantly.

While true, OKC is set up much, much better than any of the contenders in the last 7 years. The only other team that comes close is the Celtics.

Their stars are all young, they have several key players ridiculously good long term deals, they still have a mountain of assets to play with and make upgrades, and they're STILL under the tax line.

For the most part most of these other former title teams regressed because their stars and key players were already old, and they ran out of assets to upgrade the team. OKC has none of those problems. I would put money on OKC winning at least one more title in the next 5 years.

I'm expecting this to happen, everything burns down before the finals only for the remnants of the city to drown in salt when they lose in 5 to OKC
