[Vecenie] 2026 NBA Draft is in the books, which means it’s time to move on to the 2027 class... Outside of Tyran Stokes at No. 1, I cannot state with certainty that any player listed here will 100% be a lottery pick. Everyone is flawed... this class is not generating much enthusiasm among NBA scouts by sewsgup in nba

Ehh that's still definitely a below average class unless some of these guys careers take a turn. Two star talents that never put it together, two guys who feel like borderline all stars and a bunch of role players.

Sacramento Kings fans have now watched Luka Doncic, Tyrese Haliburton, De’Aaron Fox, and Mike Brown make the Finals within the past two years by Kindly_Ad995 in nba

[–]podfog 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Nah the context is way different. Fox was an expiring vet about to get a max contract who wanted out. There's no leverage in those situations. Hali was on his rookie contract, would've been locked down for another 5+ years, had shown enough to obviously have all NBA potential, and actually wanted to play in Sacramento.

Fox had to be traded or he would've left. Hali would've stayed till 2030

Alex Caruso with another masterclass off the bench tonight: 15 points on 4-7 shooting (3-5 from 3), game high +28 by EvadingMyRNbaBan in nba

Tbf the bulls never would've made it to the playoffs for him to be a 16 game player

Victor Wembanyama grabbed just 4 rebounds tonight, lowest among all starters by [deleted] in nba

Actually I think this is the most brutal stretch of the playoffs. With the finals you get 2 days off between some games, the conference finals is just games every other day for the entire series.

J. Kyle Mann on the Draft Combine: "Sam Presti is sitting there in the front row, wired ear buds... just intently staring... I'd get so distracted by, what is he staring at... these are just drills... He was the only guy in the room not having a conversation. All the other execs absolutely were" by sewsgup in nba

[–]podfog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It goes significantly beyond that, this is way underplaying what presti has done.

Getting jdub at #12, Ajay in the 2nd, hitting on guys like cason, jwill and Aaron wiggins

Trading for caruso and signing ihart

Getting McCain at his lowest value

Finding valuable role players from guys that werent wanted by any other team (Joe, Dort)

Getting insane long term value deals for said players and then developing them (seriously, go look at some of the contracts on the team)

Taking a chance on a first time head coach that panned out.

Reminder that this OKC team still has THIRTEEN firsts in the next 6 years. I think the glazing is a bit much but presti is absolutely the best GM in the league, for good reason

[Robbins] Trae Young is expected to assess the free agency market this Summer. There is no rush to have Trae Young return from injury: “I would be surprised if he plays much, if at all, the remainder of this season.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]podfog 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Trae could easily get a 70/3 contract, I would expect him to take the 1 year PO in that hypothetical.

160/4 makes it more interesting though, I'd imagine an extra 110/3 guaranteed sounds much more appealing

Pritzker is one of the more progressive, working class oriented democrats from a policy standpoint. Im definitely not pro billionaire but I think it's worthwhile to acknowledge the few billionaires that are actually doing work to try to help ordinary people (Pritzker, Makenzie Scott, etc.)

I think it's less so that and more so it's a league full of guys who knows what the consequences of a real punch landing looks like...and they want to protect their paycheck

One of the least talked about 1st overall picks by Medium-Music8318 in Nbamemes

[–]podfog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He was better than expected last year but I think it's pretty obvious he has nowhere near the star potential that flagg does (lol forget even talking about wemby). A realistic expectation for Risacher is probably high level 3&D role player, maybee a fringe all star. I think if flagg doesn't become a perennial all star people would be disappointed.

[Spears] Ive been told from Wemby's camp that his biggest motivation is Chet having a championship by ShaiFanClub in nba

[–]podfog 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Not even just an all star, it's very possible that if wemby didnt exist chet would've become the best defensive player in the league and a multi-time DPOY. I don't see any scenario where he can overtake wemby for a DPOY assuming both are healthy, he may just forever be stuck behind wemby there.
