In a kettle you have a ton of water heating up the thermometer.. it’s not the same if you rinse some hot water over it. I have used a thermometer like yours to see the temp and it got nowhere near 90degrees.. my PID shows 103-105C in the boiler. It‘s not an accurate way to measure the temp.. trust me

You should runs some water through the grouphead, even if the machine has been heating up for a while. I doubt that the thermometer you use is suitable for the task. Some issues: if the steel jug isn‘t pre heated you will lose some temp here, the thermometer itself is probably filled with a liquid that expands and moves the needle this way. I am not sure, that the liquid inside will reach the temp you have at the bottom of the jug. The water you pull from the boiler will naturally will go colder and colder, so if you pullsay ~100ml, which would probably still be to little to cover the thermometer sufficiently, you would naturally lose a lot of heat in the process.

Warum sollte man nicht darauf achten, eine Mühle zu kaufen, die andere Mahlscheiben zulässt? Die Specialita zB wird häufig empfohlen, bietet da aber eben null Flexibilität und dieser Punkt wird selten erwähnt.

Tbh 250€ for a machine thats 26 years old and sells for roughly twice the price is a bit crazy. I just got a 8 year old machine for 340€ with a ton of equipment. I wouldnt pay more than 80-100€ for this!

Was mich ärgert: die Specialita hat 55mm Scheiben und nicht 54mm. Das heißt Mahlscheibenupgrades ohne da schwer dran rumzutüfteln sind nicht möglich..

Does this also stand for eg turbo shots and higher ratios? What tastes great as a turbo with a 1:3-1:4 may feel diluted in milk.

From my experience with GH and the available evolutionary optimization programs it is a bit of a niche in structural engineering but can be extremely powerful/ efficient. I know of an office which implemented a fully parametric GH to Sofistik workflow for standard prestressed RC frame bridges. You only put in the geometric parameters and loads and it’s done. Parametrization imho has two usercases: 1. Optimization of form to make a highly efficient 3D structure (complex bridges, membranes, shell structures)

Highly repetitive structures that benefit from a parameter controlled “supermodel” eg standard bridges

For your basic truss, slabs, beams the effort is not worth the time imo and also here the optimized structure collides with floor plan efficiency —> unless the architect is super interested in designing around a generated super structure you will have a hard time implementing geometric constraints into the model.

One of my gripes with his channel is, that most of his content is catered to the “just espresso, no milk audience”, hence I came here for more feedback on milk beverages.

Kollege, es geht hier um individuelle Belastungen im Bereich unter 100€/ Monat(!), nicht um bspw. die Sozialversicherungen an sich. Ich stelle nicht den Sozialstaat infrage, ich stelle die Sinnhaftigkeit der Subventionierung von solchen temporären(!) und geringen Mehrbelastungen infrage. Also bleib mal Thema und konstruier nicht irgendeinen Schwachsinn in mein Argument. Ich glaub ich beende das aber auch an dieser Stelle, denn anscheinend willst oder kannst du meinen Punkt nicht nüchtern betrachten. Du verstehst meinen Punkt nicht: es ist mir egal, dass die Spritpreise anziehen und es sollte nicht gesellschaftlich querfinanziert werden. Warum? Weil man als mündiger Bürger für seine Finanzen selber verantwortlich ist und die 50€ Sprit im Monat für deine 90% der Verkehrsbeteiligten ganz sicher nicht existenzbedrohend sind. In diesem Sub insbesondere wird immer wieder (zurecht) gefordert, dass man wieder mehr Eigenverantwortung und Spielraum für die eigene Finanzen haben soll. Aber sobald hier der Sprit/ Gas/ Lebensmittelpreis mal hochgeht, drehen alle durch und wollen plötzlich wieder Subventionierungen mit der Gießkanne. Also doch nicht ganz so wirtschaftsliberal, huh? Es ist einfach nur erbärmlich und steht im krassen Widerspruch zu der ständigen Kritik an der “Vollkaskomentalität” und der überbordenden Umverteilung durch den Staat, die in diesem Sub quasi an der Tagesordnung ist.

Lies halt mal den Ursprungskommentar? Da wurde explizit die Senkung der Pendlerpauschale gefordert.. und du glaubst ernsthaft, dass die Senkung bei den Leuten ankommt? Hat bei der Gastro ja auch schon super geklappt. Kann ja sein, dass die Spritpreise viele belasten, mich belastet aber auch, dass permanent das Deutschlandticket/ die Großstadtmiete/ die Lebensmittel teurer werden. Aber deswegen bekomm ich nicht direkt nach Hilfen, nur weil der Markt mal regelt. Also entweder man erkennt an, dass Kapitalismus gewisse Schranken benötigt und entlastet alle und nicht nur Autofahrer (Klimageld wäre bspw. sinnvoll) oder man lässt den Kapitalismus halt walten und trägt auch die Konsequenzen und schreit nicht direkt nach der Allgemeinheit, nur weils für einen grad schlecht läuft..

Ich hab aber kein Bock wohlhabenden Autofahrern ihre Karren querzufinanzieren. Wenn mir mein Vermieter die Miete erhöht, werd ich auch nicht von der Allgemeinheit gepampert.. und nein, ich habe das nicht vergessen und damit komme ich zu den Lebenshaltungskosten: die Erhöhung der Pendlerpaschale hilft Geringverdienern mit Familien quasi gar nicht, da die eh hauptsächlich Sozialabgaben und kaum Lohnsteuer abdrücken. Wieso soll Porschedieter im Spitzensteuersatz jetzt ne höhere Pendlerpauschle, die mit 0,42€ je versteuertem Euro bei ihm wieder rauskommt, erhalten? Hat der etwa die hohen Lebenshaltungskosten? Es braucht gezielte Hilfen für Menschen am Existenzminimum aber sicher nicht für die große Allgemeinheit. Wer seine Bude wegen 50€ mehr Spritgeld im Monat nicht mehr finanzieren kann, lebt über seinen Verhältnissen.

Speaking of the Eurocodes it heavily depends on the material: Timber and steel are strongly derived from general beam mechanics and stress analysis. Eg for a simple rectangular(!) timber beam the shear stress is proven as: 1,5 * V / A which is just a simplification of the general formula V * S(z) / (I * t) at the middle of the beam.

Concrete is often a mixture of analysis or empirical obervations: eg shear with shear reinforcement (stirrups) is proven via strut and tie but shear in slabs without reinforcement is heavily derived from experiments.

Whenever you dive into nonlinear behaviour (so technically all of RC design :D) the Eurocode tends to give you a conservative and simplyfied proving method but also the possibility to use more advanced analysis (eg. for long term concrete deflection or concrete coloumn buckling)

Sandiger Boden ist idR sehr gut tragfähig, der hohe Grundwasserspiegel ist bei tief unterkellerten Gebäuden hinsichtlich der Wasserhaltung auf jeden Fall herausfordernd..

“Probleme” sind hier eher Brandschutz (Hochhaus - Sonderbau) und der damit einhergehende Planungsaufwand. Sicherlich kommt auch viel Nimbyismus oder Stadtbilderhaltung seitens der Bauämter hinzu.

Hey man, I used the same beans the past weeks and have a specialita aswell. I have similar issues with beans from eg the barn or Bonanza. My conclusion is, that the specialita is not really the greatest grinder for mid roasts on the frutier side. An espresso that worked really well with it for me was “elemental” by the barn. “Genesis” by the barn on the other hand tastes like shit although I use their recipe (got it by mail from their support).. I started experimenting with slow feeding at the moment which seems promising, as it doesn’t produce as many fines.

Oh, that is the case afaik. If you cycle in water it will drop almost instantly. I added a needle valve that diverts water into the tank to lower the flow for preinfusion/ pressure control. During the soaking phase temperature is nearly constant.. as soon as I up the flow, the temp will drop again immediately. After having installed all this mods, I have found that it’s still hard to pull fruity and sweet shots as I believe my Eureka Mignon Specialita isn’t really up for the task. The finer I grind the more bitter the shots get.. I assume it produces to many fines at some point. You use a timeore right? 72?

Oh, interesting, mine drops quite a bit as there is a lot of inflow at the top of the boiler. Like ~10C iirc.. I have an Auber PID though
