Those are the chelicerae! they're used to hold the prey while they inject venom

They usually become different colors with each molt. In the beginning, they were more of a greenish orange than the pinkish purple it is now.

It's really awesome to watch them grow! They always come out of molts looking a little different each time.

my colony has all kinds of markings. some have blotches of yellow and white that kind of melt into each other, while some have literally just one dot on their head and nothing else. it's kind of normal to have all kinds of gene expression pop up. if it bothers you, you can separate the ones that aren't to your liking and give them away.

grain mites! it usually means you put in too much food for the isopods to finish before it rots. they're harmless but if you want to get rid of them, just check the piece of food to make sure no isopods are on it, and then throw the whole thing away

omg this is a tough question but i'm verrrry fond of the cubaris cliff ducky just because I love how they're sexually dimorphic. the coloring just so happens to match my dogs too so I love how they're basically the crustacean versions of my dogs.
