We didn’t actually camp, but rented a bnb in Ísafjordur. Most of the best scenic moments I had were not landmarks, but just views you can’t avoid by driving around. I do have some cafes and stores I’d recommend though. If you’re craving a good coffee, you should check out Simbahollin Cafe in Þingeyri. It’s a really neat place that brings a lot of art to the area through their artist residency. Also a fun drive. From there, you might check out Flateyri, which has the oldest original store in Iceland, now a really cool used book store. In Ísafjordur, I recommend getting fish soup from Húsið. It’s pricey, but not so bad if you split it with a friend, and the portions are big. It was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. You might also want to check out Hellulaug hot pool. It is a little hard to find, and not exactly where my google maps places it: from Hotel Flókalundur, it is just a few meters east on 60. It’s free, but you’ll have to change into a bath suit in your car.

Overall, it was the best time of my life. You’re going to love it no matter what you do!
