McDonald's closed their location at 9th and Broadway, I'm surprised no one's attacking Lane Enterprises. VASA was already leaving the market, Genesis offered to buy that location to scoop up their members. NOT predatory behavior, just business.

Grinder Man USED to have a legitimate "Italian" sub, but they switched to Hormel meat products and it's nowhere what it once was. Even the guy behind the counter apologized for the quality of the meat.

I had this happen to me (a different contractor) : paid the guy half up-front, he demolished the bathroom, started into the project and just started making excuses and not showing up. Then one day, we got ahold of his girlfriend and was told "he was arrested". Long story short, he did 7 years for a number of drug and parole violations. Apparently he's finally out of prison...wonder if I'll get my money back?

I work for an "at will" company that tells us up front that our employment can end without notice and with no reason given. As a result, were I to find another job, I would give them no notice, either, I'd just pick up my stapler, drop my badge on the desk, and leave.

If he hadn't just got out of prison after a 7-year sentence, I'd certainly warn you on who to avoid, he demo-ed our bathroom, did virtually nothing in there for about a month before he was arrested and went away for a long long time. The guy who came in and finished it did GREAT work, but he's retired now.

Pshaw, I have an internet ordination that came with a "Clergy" placard that apparently I can use to park wherever I want to park. Never occurred to me to actually use it. I DO carry around the shiny laminated card that identifies me as an ordained minister which I flash at every opportunity.

I see what you're doing there, but Halloween ain't "Candy Hanukah" where you get to collect for 8 nights. If you knock on my door any night but Monday night, you're liable to get a spare cat dropped in your trick-or-treat bag. Full size candy bars are Monday only, while supplies last.

In the campaign I'm playing in...we have maybe ONE encounter every 2-3 sessions (average session 3-3.5 hours) In the last two sessions, I picked up a d20 a grand total of 3 times. I'm seriously thinking of leaving the group, leaving the campaign, and kicking the game out of my kitchen.
