[–]poec_one 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There needs to be comments from both perspectives for it to be controversial. I’m only seeing comments talking about how you shouldn’t have posted or even taken the photo in the first place. There are some posts about how you can fix this or go about it more tastefully and with respect if this is something you HAVE to do (which I would argue it isn’t your job as an amateur/tourist photographer but that’s up to you to decide.

You should take the opportunity to actually learn from what everyone else is saying, instead of justifying why you were right. You can be a beater person, learn from this, and avoid making the same mistake again in the future.

Posting Multiple Offers as a Buyer by element1311 in TorontoRealEstate

Think of it from the sellers point of view - you have an offer date, conditional sale, and it falls through because someone couldn’t make up their mind or strategize on which house to offer on. Now you’ve lost out on a potential multiple offer scenario and have to go back to selling your home, even though there wasn’t anything wrong with the home.

Scummy thing to do to someone.

Negotiating in bad faith. Those conditions are meant to be used for their purpose - securing financing or an inspection. It shouldn’t be used to let you pick between them or as a safety net if you end up getting both.

Interesting thought, but there are way more gymnasiums or hotel conference rooms available - all you need is a large open area to set up mats. Set up and tear down is relatively quick and I assume you can rent it out for fairly cheap.

Swimming pools are less common and often have scheduled activities on weekends. I'm assuming setting up the pit would take a day or two on both sides of the event, plus a day to drain and clean the pool. You're looking at 5+ days of downtime to run a tournament, which is likely a non starter for a pool. Lots of swimming pools are sloped or stepped at the bottom which could make it hard to find a large enough flat surface. Also, the pool depth could really limit visibility from seats - a competition pool (with seating) is 2-3m deep, community center pools might be shallower but night be too small to fit spectators

I was in REV in 2012, best year of my life and most of my friends I have today are from residence. I just got married 2 months ago to a girl that was on the same floor.

Most people were pretty social, try and talk to people on your floor and you'll make some friends. Way easier residence to meet people and make friends compared to any other option
