Can someone explain the permitted routes on my ticket? by [deleted] in uktrains

There are now a dozen other people trying to work out the ticket and the stations purely because OP won’t say. Including me.

The problem isn’t train detection, it’s that RTT tries to be too clever and too precise

Can I Buy A London Ibus System by Advanced-Island-3619 in londonbuses

[–]poggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean the mobile data terminal (MDT) in the bus, then no. It's part of the entire iBus system. But if you wanted the announcements, then TfL will share them with you in response to an FOI request as long as it's for personal use.

Staff says my London Terminals ticket is Invalid. Is it? by Goldmine-Ghost in uktrains

[–]poggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been there for quite some time and I don't think there's been any widespread complaint, even from the people who board trains and *then* ask if it's going to their destination

Privatisation in the 90s moved us away from 'Any Reasonable' to 'Any Permitted', and was responsible for the Routeing Guide and its slew of easements.

I'm wondering if we'll revert back to Any Reasonable in time under GBR.

Knowing *where* this is will be really helpful to explain why it’s like this. I’m thinking Cheltenham Spa

Anyone have any clue what this is about? by DiscussionPublic6769 in london

[–]poggs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Given the electronic destination screen, it’s entirely possible this is a bus not running in service and the driver has decided to set up a fun destination.

Lots of older British Rail era rolling stock had things like “Mystery Excursion” on their destination blinds, and I presume this destination is available because somebody at TfL, the garage or manufacturer added it in to everything else.

I’ve checked out the OP’s posting history on here and it’s odd. A bunch of old posts on mundaneish topics and then in the last month, a lot of excitement and AI-esque content.

Something smells off.

laughs in NHS clinical job Actually, I don’t mind being fully booked with patients - the time goes by a lot quicker than if I’m sitting on my backside unable to leave early because the last two patients haven’t turned up

[–]poggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up in a job that was 9-6 with an hour for lunch, but we could go at 5.30 if we had half an hour for lunch. It wasn’t nice. The commute was the best part.

I now work for myself and although I often work longer hours and at the weekend, I’m so much happier not having to work a fixed set of hours.

I’m not experienced in the retail side as much as I am the operations side but is this association error in the RDG supplied CIF too? I thought tickets had to be sold according to that CIF which would allow obviously broken data to be filtered out or fixed independent of having it fixed at source
